This study investigated the relationship between entrepreneurial education and big-five personality traits with entrepreneurial intention. Besides, it assessed how the attitude toward entrepreneurship mediates these relationships. Employing a quantitative approach to address the research objectives, data of 165 respondents were collected through questionnaires. Structural equation modeling (SEM) and path analysis were conducted using AMOS 24 software. Study findings revealed that attitude toward entrepreneurship mediates the relationship of entrepreneurial education and big-five personality traits with entrepreneurial intention. Entrepreneurial education and big-five personality traits cause attitude which in turn affects entrepreneurial intention. These findings suggest that if the appropriate educational supports applied, it could help to develop students' entrepreneurial attitudes and improve matching their skill expectations with their skill achievement. Universities can play a considerable role to promote entrepreneurship
Sustainability is integral for organizations to manage environmental issues. Environmental awareness among stakeholders builds pressure on manufacturers to adopt green human resource management practices (GHRMPs), environmental management system (EMS), and foster organizational citizenship behavior for the environment (OCBE) to improve sustainable performance (SP). This study investigates the mediating effects of OCBE and EMS on the relationship between GHRMP and SP among ISO14001-certified manufacturing firms and SP. The quantitative design employed, and data of 227 respondents were analyzed via the SEM technique using AMOS 24™. Thus, findings revealed that GHRMP is positively related to SP, while OCBE and EMS partially mediated the relationship between GHRMP and SP among ISO14001-certified Malaysian manufacturing firms. This study makes novel academic and practical contributions to green HRM, organizational behavior, and sustainable performance. However, this study also has some limitations.
This study examines the impact of work-life balance (WLB) practices concerning academics’ turnover intention, person-job fit (PJF), and PJF’s relationship with academics’ intention to leave their jobs. The study further investigates person-job fit as an underlying mechanism of the association between WLB practices and turnover intention. The study’s data were collected through a self-administered questionnaire garnered from 550 full-time academics working in higher educational institutions in South India (Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana, as well as the union territories of Lakshadweep and Puducherry). Partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was employed for the statistical analysis of the data, using Smart PLS 3.2.8 software. The study ascertained that WLB practices have a negative impact on academics’ turnover intention. Additionally, the study discovered that WLB practices have a positive impact on PJF. Similarly, PJF seems to have a significant negative influence on turnover intention. Moreover, PJF partially and negatively mediates the influence of WLB practices on turnover intention. Consequently, this study suggests implementing several WLB practices (e.g., telecommuting, job sharing, flexitime, paid parental leave, etc.) into higher educational institutions, since it may not only improve academics’ perception of their person-job fit but it may also reduce their turnover intention.
PurposeThis paper examines the effect of green creativity (GC) on the business sustainability (BS) of large manufacturing firms (LMFs) in Malaysia and investigates the mediating effect of total quality management (TQM) on this relationship.Design/Methodology/ApproachA quantitative approach was adopted, using a sample of 206 LMFs; the formulated hypotheses were analysed using partial least squares structural equation modeling.FindingsThe findings revealed a significant positive effect of GC on the TQM and BS of LMFs and a significant positive effect of TQM on their BS. TQM also has a full mediating effect on the relationship between GC and BS.Research Limitations/ImplicationsOne of the limitations of this study is its focus on Malaysian LMFs. It nevertheless contributes to the literature by extending knowledge concerning their TQM, GC and multi-faceted perspectives. This is largely ignored in literature and, as such, the study paves the way for additional research.Practical ImplicationsThe findings of this study may be used as guidelines for CEOs, particularly on the way TQM and GC can be developed for enhanced BS, in the context of South Asian countries.Originality/ValueThis study is the first to test the influence of GC on Malaysian LMFs’ BS and the first worldwide to investigate the mediating effect of TQM on their GC-BS relationship.
