Consumers' awareness in Indonesia in fighting for consumer rights is still relatively low, which can be seen from the Consumer Empowerment Index which is still lagging behind other European countries. Community service activities carried out in Gondangrejo Village, Windusari District, Magelang Regency are carried out by providing socialization and education about the importance of being a smart consumer who is aware of the rights and obligations of consumers. Rights and obligations are regulated in Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. The method used in this activity is a Participatory Alternative Model which uses Environmental Scanning, through the author's method of building the ability to view programs on an ongoing basis through mapping of related stakeholders. The purpose of this service activity is the participation of the community as consumers so that consumers can fulfill their rights as consumers. On the other hand, the smart consumer group can increase the national consumer empowerment index.
Zakat is the third pillar of Islam that all Muslims must follow. Meanwhile, taxes are one of the most important sources of revenue for the Indonesian government, with income tax (PPh) being one of them. Therefore, Indonesian Muslims are required to pay both, taxes and zakat, known as dual responsibility. In Sukosari Village, Bandongan District, Magelang Regency, this program is carried out in the form of counseling and simulation using lecture, discussion, and practice methods. As a result of the community service, participants able to demonstrate the zakat mechanism as a income tax (PPh) deduction. Furthermore, residents of Sukosari Village, in particular, can avoid double taxation (the obligation to pay zakat and taxes).
Gunungkidul Regency is one of several regions in Indonesia that is actively developing the tourism sector in order to support the regional economic sector. At the Water Park KTH Wana Tirta, Bunder Village, Kapanewon Petuk, Gunungkidul Regency, this community service is carried out in the form of counseling and simulation using lecture, discussion, and practice methods. This program resulted in the design of a revitalized child-friendly water park in order to increase the attraction of tourists to the area. In addition, the service team identifies the benefits and drawbacks of water parks, so that it can be used as feedback for better governance and to improve the economy of the surrounding community.
This study aims to examine the existence of misleading advertising information reviewed from the law perspective as well as the role of the government in providing legal protection to consumers. This study implemented conceptual and legal approaches. The results of the research show that advertisement is stated to be misleading if it violates Article 9 of The Consumer Protection (UUPK). As for the legal consequences, the advertisment’s owners may be subject to administrative, criminal, civil, and additional penalties. Consumers who suffer from misleading advertising information receive preventive legal protection in the form of making legal rules that guarantee legal protection and supervision of customers. In addition, consumers also get repressive legal protection through the courts of the justice so that costumers can file claims to the court or through channels outside the court thant are managed by The Consumer Dispute Settlement Board (BPSK). Based on the research results, its concluded that forms of misleading advertisements are misleading, deceptive, omission, and puffery. Businesses that are dishonest in advertising their products will be subject to sanctions. The advertising legal protection is contained in the UUPK, KUHPer, and the 2020’s Amendment of Indonesian Pariwara Ethics.
