China implements a floating exchange rate system after reforming the exchange rate mechanism in 2005. So far, nearly eight years, the RMB against the U.S. dollar increased from 8.2:1 to 6.1:1. Exchange rate risk of China's foreign contracted engineering industry has become a serious problem in the rapid development of the industry situation, this paper established exchange rate forecasting model base on the model of VaR through analysis the daily average exchange rate from July 22, 2005 to September 30, 2013, and estimate the rate of return by using the variance - covariance, historical simulation method, providing a theoretical basis for avoiding the exchange rate risk of China's foreign contracted projects.
A series of triaxial compression tests on an artificial ice with strain rate of 1.67×10-4/s at-6°C are carried out to investigate the mechanical behavior of ice. The influence of confining pressure on deformation and strength characteristics of ice is analyzed based on the experimental results. The results show that the stress-strain behavior and the strength of ice changes with increasing pressure in two distinct phases.
The work condition of the highway, which is usually built in mountainous regions, is complex relative to the ordinary road. Slope instability accident caused by the seepage of rainwater usually occurred in the rainy season. The mechanism for seepage failure of slope was investigated by used the Mohr-Coulomb criterion and the principle of effective stress. The effect of rain intensity on slope stability was equivalently instead by the effect of moisture content on slope stability. The influence of moisture content on the safety factor of slope stability was further calculated according to the Bishop’s method. The degeneration of safety factor follow to the moisture content was presented in the percentage.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
