The electrocardiogram (ECG) is widely used for the diagnosis of heart diseases. However, ECG signals are easily contaminated by different noises. This paper presents efficient denoising and compressed sensing (CS) schemes for ECG signals based on basis pursuit (BP). In the process of signal denoising and reconstruction, the low-pass filtering method and alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) optimization algorithm are used. This method introduces dual variables, adds a secondary penalty term, and reduces constraint conditions through alternate optimization to optimize the original variable and the dual variable at the same time. This algorithm is able to remove both baseline wander and Gaussian white noise. The effectiveness of the algorithm is validated through the records of the MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. The simulations show that the proposed ADMM-based method performs better in ECG denoising. Furthermore, this algorithm keeps the details of the ECG signal in reconstruction and achieves higher signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and smaller mean square error (MSE).
Wireless body area networks (WBANs) are expected to influence the traditional medical model by assisting caretakers with health telemonitoring. Within WBANs, the transmit power of the nodes should be as small as possible owing to their limited energy capacity but should be sufficiently large to guarantee the quality of the signal at the receiving nodes. When multiple WBANs coexist in a small area, the communication reliability and overall throughput can be seriously affected due to resource competition and interference. We show that the total network throughput largely depends on the WBANs distribution density (λp), transmit power of their nodes (Pt), and their carrier-sensing threshold (γ). Using stochastic geometry, a joint carrier-sensing threshold and power control strategy is proposed to meet the demand of coexisting WBANs based on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard. Given different network distributions and carrier-sensing thresholds, the proposed strategy derives a minimum transmit power according to varying surrounding environment. We obtain expressions for transmission success probability and throughput adopting this strategy. Using numerical examples, we show that joint carrier-sensing thresholds and transmit power strategy can effectively improve the overall system throughput and reduce interference. Additionally, this paper studies the effects of a guard zone on the throughput using a Matern hard-core point process (HCPP) type II model. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the HCPP model can increase the success probability and throughput of networks.
The goal of Clinical Named Entity Recognition (CNER) is to identify clinical terms from medical records, which is of great importance for subsequent clinical research. Most of the current Chinese CNER models use a single set of features that do not consider the linguistic characteristics of the Chinese language, e.g., they do not use both word and character features, and they lack morphological information and specialized lexical information on Chinese characters in the medical field. We propose a RoBerta Glyce-Flat Lattice Transformer-CRF (RG-FLAT-CRF) model to address this problem. The model uses a convolutional neural network to discern the morphological information hidden in Chinese characters, and a pre-trained model to obtain vectors with medical features. The different vectors are stitched together to form a multi-feature vector. To use lexical information and avoid the problem of word separation errors, the model uses a lattice structure to add lexical information associated with each word, which can be used to avoid the problem of word separation errors. The RG-FLAT-CRF model scored 95.61%, 85.17%, and 91.2% for F1 on the CCKS 2017, 2019, and 2020 datasets, respectively. We used statistical tests to compare with other models. The results show that most p-values less than 0.05 are statistically significant.
Researchers have introduced side information such as social networks or knowledge graphs to alleviate the problems of data sparsity and cold starts in recommendation systems. However, most of the methods ignore the exploration of feature differentiation aspects in the knowledge propagation process. To solve the above problem, we propose a new attention recommendation method based on an enhanced knowledge propagation perception. Specifically, to capture user preferences in a fine-grained manner in a knowledge graph, an asymmetric semantic attention mechanism is adopted. It identifies the influence of propagation neighbors on user preferences through a more precise representation of the preference semantics for head and tail entities. Furthermore, in consideration of the memory and generalization of different propagation depth features and adaptively adjusting the propagation weights, a new propagation feature exploration framework is designed. The performance of the proposed model is validated by two real-world datasets. The baseline model averagely increases by 9.65% and 9.15% for the Area Under Curve (AUC) and Accuracy (ACC) indicators, which proves the effectiveness of the model.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
