Diseases of the skin, inflammation, complications of suppurative processes can be caused by invasion of akariformes and lead to the deterioration of animal health, slimming and intoxication. The aim of this work was to investigate the efficacy of the drug “MEGA STOP” by analyzing the clinical status of the animals and the dynamics of hematological parameters. It was used 15 animals aged from 8 months to 5 years, of both sexes. Examined the General condition of the animals (behavior, reaction to external stimuli, presence of appetite, skin and coat, the color of the mucous membranes and the like). It was performed microscopic examination of scrapings from the affected skin and ears, as well as clinical analysis of blood. The drugs were applied according to the instructions and the invasion of intact skin. In all animals with a flea in a single treatment was effective. The blood counts were normal (the upper and lower lime), except for erythrocytes (below normal from 4.72 % to 2.26 %). It was established, that all animals treated with the drug MEGA STOP at 0 day was deviation in the norm of the indicator red blood cells to decrease from 0.4 of 7.36 %. In the following days of the study (10 and 20 day), indicators are normalized and the condition of the animals improved. The maximum deviation of the blood parameters from the norm were detected in an animal with double invasion (otodectosis and fleas). The study of the animals before treatment were violations of the skin in the affected areas of agents, anemia, leukocytosis and eosinophilia. These changes of the blood, characteristic of allergic and intoxication metabolites acariformes. After the first treatment the condition of the ears and skin, according to the results of clinical examination and microscopy, have improved as the blood counts. After the second treatment the animals of both groups a swab from the ears clean and no clinical manifestations. The high efficacy of the drug “MEGA STOP” for the prevention and treatment of flea infestations and acarosan (notoedres, otodectosis in, demodicosis) in single/double skin applied depending on the degree of infestation.
This article describes studies of the veterinary anthelmintic preparation Moxistop (tablet) for dogs and cats. The preparation Moxistop (tablet) has a wide range of action, thanks to its unique formula moxidectin + praziquantel fights 13 types of parasites, including microfilariae (Dirofilaria repens, Dirofilaria immitis), it is used for prophylactic and therapeutic purposes in nematodes and cestodes. Analysis of the dynamics of clinical indicators of the blood of cats showed that the animals of the first and second groups, all indicators were normal. Eosinophils before deworming in animals of the first group were increased and amounted to (8.2 ± 0.93) % (normal (2–6) %), and after deworming to the 14th day decreased to (4.7 ± 0.51) %; in cats of the second group decreased from (9.7 ± 1.14) % to (5.5 ± 0.49) %. According to the study, it was found that in the studied dogs of one group after the use of the preparation “Moxistop” tablet blood hemoglobin tended to increase relative to normal, namely by 28%, and in group V within normal limits. The content of erythrocytes, leukocytes, eosinophils, lymphocytes and ESR – within normal limits. It should be noted that before deworming in animals of the fourth group, blood parameters, namely eosinophils, were at the upper limit of normal and were (7.9 ± 2.63) % (normal (2–8) %), and after deworming to 14 on the th day decreased to (5.4 ± 1.44) %; in dogs of the fifth group decreased from (7.1 ± 1) % to (4 ± 1) %, in animals of the control group was more than 7 %, which is the upper limit of normal. According to the results of the tests, it was found high efficiency of the preparation “Moxistop” (“Moxistop mini”, “Moxistop copper”, “Moxistop maxi”) in the infestation of Dipylidium caninum, Toxascaris leonina and Dirofilaria immitis in dogs and cats of different ages.
The subject of timely diagnosis and prevention of urinary system diseases is an essential argument in life quality and health of pets. The present article exposes conducted test on supplement into basic ration of "Phytovit" and "VESELIY KIT" feed supplements to cat breeds like exotic short-haired and Persian. Herbal extracts (birch buds, cranberry, nettle, plantain and lespedeza) with addition of beer yeasts and vitamin-mineral complex are used as active ingredients in presented feed supplements. Administration effectiveness of feed supplements was analyzed as a result of animal common state (nutritional state, skin and coat state, presence/absence of secretion from nose, eyes, etc.) and blood biochemical rates (urea, creatin). During the entire period of the test (4 weeks (I, II, IV and V groups), 8 weeks-III group) the animals were active, with satisfied appetite, they have normal reaction on sound and light irritants. Disorders in breathing, urination and defecation were not observed. Coat excretion in control groups took a place 1-2 times a week via vomiting, whereas in period of the first week of Phytovit feed supplement administration (for coat excretion) the process of vomiting was observed in 20% of cats; and starting the second week of feed supplement administration the coat in animals was excreted via digestive path with feces. Under the conditions of Phytovit supplement administration (for strong nervous and immune system) more calm behavior was observed in animals during the test starting from the second week of administration. Administration of Phytovit feed supplement (for coat) has led to improvement of skin common state and coat cover (dissolution of dander-after week of administration, appearance of shine and reduction of coat prolapse-after two weeks of administration) in relation to control one. Application of feed supplement "Veseliy Kit" and Phytovit (prevention of kidney stone disease) in cats, opposite to control had an improvement in skin state, changes and disorders of urinary system were not observed in difference to blood biochemical rates dynamics.
The application of the feed additives for nutrition correction, as well as the prophylaxis of any problems with health of the animals, is becoming more actual among veterinary professionals and owners of the animals. The effectiveness of the application of the feed additives «Phytovit» was established by analysis of the clinical state of the animals, clinical and biochemical indices of the dog blood. The animals were active throughout the observation period (4 weeks), they responded well to sound and light irritants; respiratory disorders, disorders in urination and defecation were not observed. In the dogs, beginning with the second week of the experiment, was found an improvement in appetite, general condition of skin and woolen cover (disappearance of dandruff-after a week of application, appearance of gloss and decrease of wool loss) relative to control. It was determined, that on the 14 th day of the experiment in the blood of the dogs of all experimental groups, the content of total hemoglobin increased an average by 8.5 % relative to the control level of the index. It was found, that the content of total protein, total calcium and inorganic phosphorus increased more markedly since 14 day of the experiment. It was established, that the level of serum enzymatic activity of Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) in the serum of blood of the animals in all experimental groups during the experiment gradually increased relative to the control, on the average in 1.2 (I); 1.3 (II); 1.3 (III); 1.4 (IV) and 1.4 (V) times (P ≤ 0.05). It is established, that feed additives in the recommended doses are not only harmless but also effective, because in accordance with the results of clinical and biochemical investigations of the blood of the dogs have been registered improvements in the assimilation of nutrients of feed, in particular-protein, macro-nutrients, fatsoluble vitamins, indicating their reduction of metabolic reactions in their organism.
The present article describes studies on the use of veterinary anthelmintic drug “Moxistop” (drops) to prevent helminthiasis in dogs and cats of different ages. These studies are relevant because the market has a wide range of anthelmintic drugs; “Moxistop” with its constituent substances (moxidectin/praziquantel) provides effective prevention of a wide range of helminths. Prevention of helminthiasis is an important anti-epizootic measure, which carried out at least once a quarter. Infection of dogs and cats before and 14 days after treatment was determined by examining fecal samples by Fulleborn flotation. The effectiveness of the drug was established because of the number of helminth eggs in 1 g of feces before and after treatment. For the treatment of dogs was used “Moxistop for dogs” (LLC SPE “SUZIRYA” Kharkiv, Ukraine): the active substances – moxidectin (25 mg/ml) and praziquantel (40 mg/ml), and for the treatment of cats used “Moxistop for cats”: active substances – moxidectin (10 mg/ml) and praziquantel (40 mg/ml). The drug was applied to experimental animals in drops (“spot-on”) on dry intact skin (topical application). As a result of a single application of the drug “Moxistop” drops found that on (4-6) days after application of the drug to dogs and (4-5) days after administration of the drug to cats, diarrhea in all animals stopped, feces became decorated, homogeneous consistency, not had additional inclusions. The animals were not disturbed, did not lick the skin around the anus, no side effects from the skin (redness or irritation, hair loss), increased local temperature or any signs of poisoning. No cat was detected in coprology studies on 14 days after deworming of helminth eggs. In the first series of experiments (groups I and III) conducted on dogs and cats infected with both cestodes and nematodes, a 100% therapeutic effect was obtained in cestodes in dogs and cats. The extent of invasion in dogs with nematodes was 80.0%, and the decrease in the number of eggs after treatment was 97.5% (from 157 ± 13.4 to 4), in cats, these figures were 100%. The effectiveness of the drug “Moxistop” in dogs and cats (groups II and IV animals), which was 100% in the second series of experiments with a high degree of nematode infestation (more than 500 eggs in 1 g of feces). According to the results of the tests, it was found high efficiency of the drug “Moxistop” in the invasion of Dipylidium canis, Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina and Uncinaria stenocephala in dogs and cats of different ages
