An investigation of the beta decay of 78Rb to levels in VSKr has been carried out, and a detailed level scheme is proposed. The half-lives of 7SgRb and vS"Rb have been measured to be 17.66+0.08m and 5.74_+0.05m, respectively. It has been possible to deduce percentage feedings and logft values separately for the ground state and isomeric decays. The spectroscopic studies favour a J~=0 + assignment for the 7SRb ground state, and 4-for the isomeric level. This implies that the 7SgRb--* VS~Kr decay is isospin forbidden.
