Il linfoma della prostata, primitivo o secondario a forma disseminata è un'evenienza estremamente rara con netta prevalenza della forma non-Hodgkin. Riportiamo un caso di secondarismo prostatico da LNH trattato con Radioterapia pelvica e TUR prostatica. La rarità del linfoma della prostata viene confermato dalla revisione statistica della letteratura. L'istotipo prevalente è la varietà non-Hodgkin. La sintomatologia è aspecifica, la diagnosi si effettua sulla base dell'esame istologico, la prognosi è generalmente severa e la terapia consiste in cicli di polichemioterapia e radioterapia.

A review of case histories from 1988 to 1990 shows an increase in the incidence of renal neoplasms compared to previous years. Analysing the symptomatology and signs that led to diagnosis of a renal tumor in 105 patients, the classical triad (hematuria, pain, swelling) was less evident while “accidental” discovery was clearly more frequent. Taking the paraneoplastic, clinical and laboratory signs into consideration, a significant incidence of anemia, high sedimentation rate and a change in the immunoglobulin (in 30% of cases) emerged, without specificity of monoclonal peaks.

— To examine whether occupational factors can be related to the development of bladder cancer, we investigated the occupational histories of patients with bladder transitional cell carcinoma, living in the province of Lecco (North-West Italy) and compared the distribution of their occupations and that of all residents in the same area. A standardized questionnaire (covering family, medical, occupational and residential history, socioeconomics factors and various dietary factors) constituted the study instrument. 358 subjects, of whom 48 at first diagnosis were studied. Tobacco smoking, employment in the transport and communications and in the services sectors were found as possible factors of increased risk in developing bladder cancer. To obtain more definite information a hospital-based case-control study on bladder cancer incidence will be conducted.
