Pollution-free Rivers confer a signal of a vigorous environment. The present study highlighted the impact on river Tawi. Tawi River is the single river flowing in Jammu city and the longest tributary of the river Chenab. The water samples were analyzed in the month of November 2021. The samples were collected from different five locations (Nagrota, Bagh-e-Bahu, Below Tawi River Bridge, Belicharana, and Surajpur) and investigated the sample in the regional JKPCB laboratory in Jammu. The important parameters ware analysis such as pH, Temperature, Turbidity, DO, TDS, COD, BOD, Total Alkalinity, Hardness, Chloride, Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium, etc. The result shows river is fit for washing and bathing apart from below Tawi River Bridge. In these locations, BOD, COD, and Calcium values were found to be high corresponding to BIS because of the household and municipal waste discarded. Expulsion of waste generated due to development activities and demographic explosion in the basin of the Tawi River turn down the quality of water.
