The authors report on the recent development of a 2 Â 2 RF MEMS switch matrix for high power applications. The RF design and modelling of the switch matrix using full-wave electromagnetic (EM) simulations are described. The method of fabrication and experimental setup are presented. Results for the recorded RF performance for on and off states are presented. Power handling characteristics of the switch are also examined. Some challenging issues for the development of this type of device are addressed.
-This paper presents a study of the behaviour of electrically actuated RF-MEMS switches with ohmic contact. We will discuss about the relationship between the actuation voltage, displacement and the corresponding contact force experienced by the switch. We will demonstrate the linear behaviour of the switch when factors such as width or length of the switch arm are varied. Experimental results for DC actuation are also presented.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
