Abstract-We report here the fabrication of fiber chromatic dispersion compensators, along with the tests of those components in wavelength-division-multiplexed transmission at 10 Gb/s and an analysis of their performance by simulation.
More and more, the capacity of telecommunication networks will have to be increased so as to meet the future needs of the customers in terms of bandwidth. ATM has been identified as a standard switching technique for the future broadband network. For these reasons an optical ATM switching architecture [1] has been proposed and recently demonstrated with the build up of a 4×4 switching matrix operating at 2.5 Gbit/s.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
