Abstract-After an 80.9"" plane-strain deformation of Ag crystals with an initial orientation of ~ilO) [~l] and (iIO)[ll?] both orientations proved to be stable. The spread in orientation was no more than about 10' from the initial orientation. The new orientations resulting from the recrvstallization process can reasonably be explained by a continuous array of tu-ins. Both with X-ray techniques and by means of electron microscopy orientations within 5' of those of ta-ins up to the fourth order have been observed. None of these twins possessed 3 30--10' orientation relationship around a common (11 l} axis with the deformed matrix.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
