We review some of the properties of the vortex lattice in type II superconductors and the use of muon spin rotation (q to investigate high temperature supereonducting oxides. Asa microscopic probe of the field distribution inside the bulk of materials, IxSR is shown to be a powerfui tool with which to study the magnetic properties of superconductors. We also discuss how understanding the complex phenomenology of the vortex lattice in these materials is necessary in order to correctly determine fundamental parameters of the superconducting state.
Small-angle neutron studies have been performed on samples of continuous inhomogeneous magnetic recording media. This has allowed the local magnetic structure to be probed at a sub-nanometre resolution, revealing some interesting information about the size and shape of the magnetic grains and their relation to the physical grains.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
