A total of 8 water samples were collected from beginning, middle and end of Belbais drain, which located at longitudes of N 30 o 10' 57.6" and E 31 o 20' 20.8" and latitudes of N 30 o 33' 39.2" and E 31 o 36' 10.3" and altitude around 11.6 m. relative to sea level, in order to assess the quality of its water and its suitability for agricultural irrigation. Samples were analysed for pH, EC and other parameters. pH was within the permissible limit. EC indicates C3 (high salinity). According to USDA (1954). The soluble sodium percent (SSP) ranged from 67.78% to 41.69%, i.e. moderate restriction in using this water. The Sodium Adsorption Ratio (SAR) ranged from 6.74 to 8.44 and according to FAO (1985), water is of low sodium hazard. According to USDA (1954), water is of high salinity medium sodicity (C3S2). Permeability index values varied between 82.52 to 85.34% and based on Doneen diagram (1962), medicating class II i.e. no permeability or infiltration problems. Residual Sodium Carbonate (RSC) was < 1.25 mmol c L -1 , i.e. safe for irrigation.

Fifty one soil samples were callected from some wadis soil i.e., (El Sheikh Soliman, Sidri, El-Arishia and Bodra) of Adu Rudeis district, which is lies between some mountain chains. These soil samples were collected to determined their physical and chemical properties and to assess their total and available contents of Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu in a fairly intanse sampling scheme. The results indicate that the texture class varies from sandy to sandy clay loam, The content of CaCO 3 , organic matter, soil salinity and pH value varies from 12.4 to 579 g kg -1 , 6.7 to 30.2 g Kg-1 , 0.23 to 8.62 dSm -1 and 7.6 to 9.3, respectively. The total Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu ranged from 1020 to 9000, 370 to 900, 190 to 500 and 90 to 280 mg kg -1 , respectively. Most wadis soils of Abu Rudeis district have their DTPA available Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu higher than the critical level i.e., 4,1,1 and 0.2 mg kg -1 , respectively. The respective correlated coefficients, indicate that available Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu showed significant positively correlated with clay (%), (silt + clay)%, CaCO 3 content, pH and EC values and O.M content, except available conent of (Fe and Zn), (Mn), (Zn), (Mn) and (Fe and Zn) that showed significant negatively correlation with clay (%), CaCO 3 , pH and O.M values, respectively.

A field experiment was carried out to study the effect of spraying ascorbic and citric acids on canola grown on a sandy soil in Ismailia Governorate, Egypt, the design was a randomized complete block, factorial. Factor 1: ascorbic acid spray at 4 rates. Factor 2 : Citric acid spray at 4 rates . Rates in each were 0, 144, 192 and 240 g acid ha -1 of spray. Thus there were 16 different combinations. Foliar spray was applied three times: 40, 60 and 80 days from sowing, each of 1000 L ha -1 . Yields of seeds, pods, shells, oil and oil percentage were increased with increasing the rate of acid addition. Seed yield, No. seeds pod -1 , pod yield and pod shelling were increased with addition rates of 240 g solution ascorbic ha -1 without citric acid. Shell yield and 1000 seed weight were increased with spraying 240 g ha -1 from both of ascorbic and citric acid.

A pot experiment was conducted under greenhouse condition at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University, Egypt. The experiment aimed to study the effect of different potassium sources (potassium sulphate and potassium feldspar) at the recommended rate (40 mg K kg-1) either single or in combination with soil amendments i.e., farmyard manure (FYM) and sulfur (S) with or without silicate dissolving bacteria (SDB) on yield and nutrients uptake by wheat through the investigated clayey soil. Soil were taken from the surface layers (0-30 cm) from Hehia District, Sharkia Governorate, Egypt. Application of K-sulphate or K-feldspar as individual application or combined with different soil amendments under SDB gave increase in straw and grain yield, potassium uptake, biological yield, 1000 grain weight and protein content of wheat plants compared to untreated soil. The highest value for each of yield, K-uptake and available K was found in clayey soil treated with K-sulphate combined with FYM plus S in the presences of SDB, while the lowest ones were obtained with untreated soils in absence of soil amendments and SDB. Application of Ksulphate showed greater value in each of yield, protein content, K-uptake by wheat plants and soil available potassium than K-feldspar. Application of SDB to K-sulphate or K-feldspar increased yield, protein content, K-uptake of wheat and available potassium compared to the untreated ones.
