The aim of the present work is to develop a finite element model for calculating the pressure of a hydrodynamic fluid-film bearing with micropolar lubrication. The mathematical model is based on the generalized Reynolds equation. Two types of bearings, immersed and with axial lubrication, are considered, for which effective and robust pressure field calculation algorithms are proposed based on the finite element method. In following, the pressure fields are used to determine the static and dynamic integral bearing characteristics.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
