Recently, it has been reported* that the 77:--meson absorbed in the hydrogen gas produces high energy r-rays, the spectrum of which has sllch a form as indicated in Fig As seen from Fig I, the spectrum at 130 Mev iI).dicates that one photon, getting almost all the rest energy of a 77:-.,meson, is emitted. On the other hand, a band near 60 Mev suggests that the rest energy of a 77:--meson is divided into two photons. The former process is, probably, interpreted to be
77:-+p_N+r·The latter corresponds to -77:-+p_N+2r,Accepting such a interpretation, we can get various informations about the 77:-meson. In this paper, we shall report a theoretical analysis for the 77:-meson of scalar' (or pseudoscalar) type. § 1. CalculationsAs the life time that the 77:--meson with. ordinary kinetic energy (--10 Mev),
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
