Absfruct-A finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is described for the efficient solution of wide-band electromagnetic phenomena. The algorithm uses a second-order Lax-Wendroff finite difference algorithm in conjunction with the method of flux-corrected transport to suppress problems with dispersion that occur when solving Maxwell's equations using the standard second-order Yee finite-difference time-domain algorithm. Results are given comparing the accuracy of the Lax-WendroWCT method versus the Yee algorithm for propagating pulsed-type splane waves.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
