The reaction of potassium fluoride with α‐bromocarboxylic acid anilides, substituted in the α‐ or β‐position, causes dehydrohalogenation and gives α, β‐unsaturated anilides. Long‐chain α,α′‐dibromodicarboxylic acid (>C8) anilides give in the same reaction essentially α,αprime;‐di‐fluorocarboxylic acid anilides.
Substituted amides of glycyrrhetic acid have been prepared. The substituents were chosen for their solubilizing effect and potential biological interest.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
