This wo rk consists first to highlight the domestic water heating system transient behavior. The second is to bring out the effect of the series or parallel connection of a set of flat plate solar collectors on the performances of the solar system. Thus, modeling the retained system is based on the overall energy balance method for each component of the solar water heate r while having taken the initial conditions related to the collector. This is based also on the momentum conservation equation in where are considered the singular and linear pressure drop caused by the different component constituting the hydraulic circuit of retaining configuration. The resolution of the equation system was done under MATLAB environment and the effect of the mounting configuration on solar water heating system performances and on the pressure loss in the hydraulic circuit of the solar system has been brought to light. It is observed that unlike to a parallel collectors connection, for the same number of collector mounted in series leads to increase the fluid temperature, increase the thermal loss from the solar panel and by consequent decrease the solar system efficiency. Against, this increases the total pressure drop in the hydraulic circuit of the solar system.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
