Nous rapportons ainsi une étude prospective portant sur 12 mois et ayant porté sur les aspects épidémiologiques des angines dans le service ORL de l'Hôpital Gabriel Touré. A Travers cette étude nous avons pu évaluer la fréquence et les complications des angines.Nous avons recensé 260 cas d'angines dont 63 cas de complications loco-régionales.Les angines représentent 1,8% des pathologies rencontrées en ORL dans le service avec un sex-ratio de 2,6 en faveur des femmes et la tranche d'âge la plus concernée est de 20 à 24 ans (18,07%).L'angine a été beaucoup plus fréquente au début et à la fin de la saison pluvieuse correspondant aux mois de mai et octobre.Dans 63 cas l'angine a été émaillée de complications loco-régionales à type de phlegmon péri-amygdalien (54%), d'amygdalite chronique (41,3%), d'abcès rétro-pharyngé (3,2%) et d'adéno-phlegmon cervical (1,6%). L'antibiothérapie doit être de mise et les indications chirurgicales doivent être bien posées avec un consentement éclairé du patient.L'angine de part ses complications doit bénéficier d'une meilleure prise en charge. Summary:We are reporting here a 12 month-prospective study on epidemiologic aspects of sore throat in the ENT department of the national hospital Gabriel Touré.We recorded 260 cases of sore throat with 23 loco-regional complications representing 1.8% of all pathologies in our department; the sex ratio was 2.6 in favour of women, and the age group most affected was 20-24 years (18.07%). Sore throat was most frequently diagnosed at the beginning and at the end of the rainy season respectively may and october.In 63 of the cases, local and regional complications were seen, and represented by peri-amygdale phlegm (54%), chronic amygdale (41.3%), retropharyngeal abscess (3.2%), and cervical adeno-phlegm (1.6%).Therapy with antibiotics should be of rule, and well justified surgical decisions should be made after informed consent of the patient. Sore throat with its complications should really benefit of better attention and better management.
