Des observations morphologiques et anatomiques sur deux cultivars de Lycopersicum esculentum Mill, montrent que lors du passage de la phase végétative à la phase reproductive le méristème de l'apex terminal devient complètement reproductif et est remplacé dans sa fonction végétative par le bourgeon axillaire de la dernière feuille.
