As the processing power of computers increase, Electromagnetic (EM) modeling software becomes more readily available on the commercial market. The applications, the numeric codes, as well as computer platforms and costs vary widely from software package to software package. This paper attempts to demystify commercial EM software packages by surveying a number of numerical EM modeling software packages, familiarizing the reader with the features of each package and the modeling software in general.
