The financial structure in the world has become more complex with the increase in global capital movements. For this reason, credit rating agencies have emerged as an important component of the financial structure. Standard and Poors, Moody's and Fitch are the three most important companies in this market. The grades given by these institutions highly affect the economic situation of the countries. In this study, information is given about credit rating agencies and it is aimed to measure the effect of the points given to countries by Standard and Poors, Moody's and Fitch, which are the most important of these institutions, on the economy. For this purpose, the effect of credit scores on the economic growth of Balkan countries except Kosovo was analyzed using panel data analysis method. In addition, unemployment, inflation, current account balance and budget balance data were included in the analysis. The findings obtained show that credit scores have an effect on the economic growth of countries.
Although some of the resources required to meet human needs can be provided by a country, the rest must be supplied from other countries because not every country has all resources. Therefore, the demand for international trade emerges. A country earns incomes by selling its surplus and obtains scarce resources from other countries with these incomes. In this context, some political and economic initiatives have been established by countries, which work in harmony to facilitate and regulate international trade and create a common market. Two of them are Shanghai Pact and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). However, even if the initiatives meet certain common needs, it is very important to carry out logistics activities correctly in order to ensure effective and efficient foreign trade. If planned and correctly carried out, logistics activities are expected to make both import and export processes efficient and reduce resource usage. In this study, it is aimed to examine the effects of logistics performance in international trade in countries of Shanghai Pact and the BRI. In order to measure logistics performance in the research, two kinds of data are used, namely, the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) data, published by the World Bank every two years, and the import and export data, also published by the World Bank. With six sub-criteria of LPI modeled as independent variables and import and export as dependent variables, Tobit analysis is made by using EViews 10 software package. According to the analysis results, customs clearance, logistics quality and traceability have effects on export, and infrastructure, customs clearance and logistics quality have effects on import.
Production enterprises are enterprises that produce goods or services that aim to meet human needs such as machinery-equipment materials and labour. In order for a manufacturing enterprise to carry out its activities successfully, it must make the right choice when choosing its inputs. The correct execution of production activities and the selection of machinery, which requires high capital investments, also affect the efficiency of the enterprises, the correct use of materials and their costs. Therefore, it is an important decision for business managers to choose the right machine. At this stage, multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) methods are used for choosing the right machine. MCDM methods are methods used in the evaluation of alternatives using more than one criterion. In addition, the MCDM method is used in machine selection as well as in many areas. In this study, PSI, SV and MARCOS methods, which are among the MCDM methods, were used for peanut butter machine selection. First, the criteria and alternatives to be used for the peanut butter machine selection were determined by interviewing a peanut butter factory manager. In the study, while the criteria weights were determined, PSI and SV methods were used, while the machines were ranked with the MARCOS method. In addition, the MARCOS method was compared with other MCDM methods such as PIV, CODAS and WEDBA methods. After the rankings were found according to the methods, the relations between the rankings were examined using the Spearman Correlation method. The main purpose of the study is to determine the suitable butter machine for a peanut paste production factory. Contribution of this study to the literature PSI, SV and MARCOS methods were used together for the first time. In addition, no study has been found in the literature related to peanut butter machine. Therefore, this study is original and contributes to the literature.
Intermodal Transport is a system that combines multiple modes of transport, aiming to minimize the disadvantage of each mode while using the advantages of two or more transport modes with maximum efficiency. It provides the advantage of logistics companies by using intermodal transportation services in the competitive market, respecting the environment, as well as providing them with improvements in the cost area, offering more affordable prices to their customers. When our natural resources of Intermodal Transportation, which is a more economical, environmentally friendly, more efficient system, are consumed rapidly, it increases even more in this environment. With this increasing importance, the system tries to explain general information, benefits to natural resources, carbon emission rates, more resource consumption, less risk of accident, examining the information about fixed train and RORO voyages in depth, and using the interview method with the relevant department. Within the scope of this study, the basic issues about the intermodal transportation system, which is in an important position for sustainable logistics, will be explained, and then, within the scope of Intermodal Transportation services carried out by Ekol logistics, RO-RO transportation, block train services and products that are subject to trade are produced or finalized. It tells the consumers how the process is applied in the transportation journey and the benefits provided to the environment, humanity and natural resources while these logistics applications are carried out.
Economic growth is an important concept that countries focus on and try to achieve by applying various strategies. Because a growing economy increases the welfare level of the people and enables countries to consolidate their existence. For this reason, many countries around the world are trying to develop their foreign trade activities, which is one of the most important driving forces of growth. In foreign trade, it is important that the movements of these products in the supply chain are carried out effectively and efficiently as much as the products produced. An effectively executed logistics system helps to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and gain competitive advantage. In other words, logistics, while providing the sectoral connection within the national economy, is the whole of the activities that connect the country's economy to the global economy, in other words, it is extremely necessary for the execution of foreign trade. A number of factors can affect the efficiency of logistics, including infrastructure, technology, and the regulatory environment. In our study, it is aimed to evaluate the competencies of Turkey and Turkic Republics, which have a common language, race, culture, and tradition, in the field of logistics and to reveal the relationship between logistics competency and economic growth. The logistics competence of the countries is represented by the Logistics Performance Index published by the World Bank. In addition, macroeconomic data consisting of GDP per capita, foreign trade and growth of these countries were obtained from the World Bank and compared between countries.
