In the recent years, technology has been an important component in teaching and learning. The literature has highlighted many studies investigations on the students' intention to use technology in many Western, African and South East Asian countries. This article brings in the factors influencing students' adoption of ICT tools in higher education institutions in India. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model was used to determine the predictors of ICT adoption in learning their coursework in colleges. The results were obtained by structural equation modelling, using the data collected from 398 students doing their undergraduate engineering programs. The findings show that performance expectancy, effort expectancy and social influence has a positive significant relationship on behavioral intention to use ICT tools and facilitating conditions has a direct relationship with usage behaviour. The findings have led to relevant theoretical and practical implications and future researches are suggested.
Smartphones have become an integral part of everyone's life. Being a powerful communication device, the number of subscribers is persistently increasing every year. Younger generation are often the early adopters of smartphones. Because of its educational and entertaining options students have adopted them easily. This study aims to identify the factors that lead to student dependency on smartphones and thus leading to continued usage. The data was collected from undergraduate students and was analysed using structural equation modelling (SEM). The results of the study show that performance expectancy, social needs, social influence, convenience has a positive relationship on dependency on smartphones and dependency on smartphones has a positive relationship on continued usage of smartphones. The findings have led to theoretical and practical implications and future researches are suggested.
HR analytics refers to the process of quantifying and visualizing HR data to enhance man power performance. It acquired a sky-high prominence recently in estimating the effectiveness of every HR policy/process in the organization to discern value-added employees and HR activities that enhance the business performance. It is proficient in furnishing data-driven decisions that enhance succession planning and best hiring practices, retain qualified workforce, and measure various HR metrics such as turnover, the employee engagement rate for optimizing job experience, focusing on learning and career development programs. The literature encompasses research journal papers, websites, magazines, blogs that are related to HR Analytics. This paper explores the role of various HR analytics tools/software and HR chatbots with unique features in providing seamless HR digitalization. Digital empowerment in HR is enhanced by the deployment of HR chatbots powered by Artificial Intelligence. This paper unfolds the sample list of HR analytics tools/software and chatbots, their role in HR digitalization, and the companies using them. The review also contributes to find out various challenges in the adoption of HR analytics. It is concluded that HR digitalization through analytics is majorly applied to the basic functions mostly quantitative and needs to be explored to complex and qualitative aspects in HR domain.
Traditional physical workspaces have gone after the pandemic has happened. Individuals working at home have distractions that they would have not faced earlier. The usual working hours have taken a toll after they have started to work from home. Mental health and emotional support are not the same for professionals. Infidelity or extramarital affairs are also increasing in this situation where the individual is trying to date someone outside their marriage for emotional or mental support. The negative effect of an extramarital affair is expected to be exacerbated for the individuals working from home and involved in infidelity. The process of healing can also take time making a huge influence on the family relationships including children. In India, extradyadic relationships are not commonly talked about because of the wide cultural and societal influence. But the ground reality according to research studies is that there are many who indulge in the same. This article gives a brief background of extramarital and infidelity research carried out in the past 10 years (2012–2021) and sees how the extramarital affair in families has evolved and impacted individuals working from home during the pandemic.
