Background: In preventive dentistry, it is important for the need to prevent rather than to treat early childhood caries and to improve the types of fluoride and application to see if the comparative efficacy is sufficient or insufficient because every type can relieve and give comfort to patients. Aims: To compare the effect of Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF), fluoride varnish, fluoride gel and GC tooth mousse plus on Streptococcus mutants bacterial load. To evaluate the effect on the types of fluoride on caries. To compare the effect of prevention’s of early childhood caries by using different types of fluoride. Searching the databases using the keywords: sodium diamine fluoride; GC tooth mousse; fluoride varnish; fluoride gel; early childhood caries; caries; varnish; prevention. Materials and methods: 2010-December 2018, databases which were searched: MEDLINE via Ovid, Web of science, Embase, Cochrane Library, LILACS, and Dental specialties: pediatrics, oral preventive. Foreigner languages, editorials, letter to the editor, experimental studies with animals and Short communications were excluded from this review. Results: 2 studies assessed un-clear and need further research of SDF. 5 studies assessed that 12% of SDF has no effect but 38% has an effect with dentin and enamel with black staining as a disadvantage. 1 study showed that SDF is safe and effective compared to fluoride varnish, 2 studies showed that tooth mousse is recommended for early child caries without mentioning SDF and 3 studies found that it decreases the growth of mutants and aids in the remineralization of both enamel and dentin structure. Conclusion: To sum up this study silver diamine fluoride is effective and safe to use for preventing childhood caries than silver fluoride, GC tooth mousse and fluoride varnish, which saves time with increase accuracy and patient satisfaction.
Rheumatoid arthritis is a crippling disease which affects all life domains of the patients, so there is a necessary need for adequate rehabilitation process. The aim of the study was Assessment of nurses' knowledge and performance toward rehabilitation of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, and Assessment of nurses' attitude toward rehabilitation of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Materials and method: Correlation research design was utilized to conduct this study. Sample: Convenience sample of all available nurses at the time of the study providing care for patients with rheumatoid arthritis (N=40) at the physical medicine and rehabilitation department in the outpatient clinic at Mansoura University Hospital. Data were collected using three tools; first tool included two parts socio demographic characteristics of the studied nurses and assessment of nurses' knowledge about different aspect of rehabilitation of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Second tool was nurse's practice toward rehabilitation of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Third tool was nurse's attitude toward rehabilitation of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. (20.0%) of the studied nurses had satisfied knowledge and all of the studied nurses (100.00%) had an unsatisfied performance in physical, psychological rehabilitation, and health education while (90.0%) of the studied nurses had satisfied attitude. It is recommended to hold continuous educational and orientation program for the newly nursing staff and encourage a high level of self care, follow up, teaching for rheumatoid arthritis and improving health status.
Background: Purpose: To clarify if there are any problems that are faced by the dentists and the parents regarding the dental procedures and the oral health care in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in Du-bai Health Authority and Dubai Autism Center. Methods: There were 86 questionnaires distributed to parents of autism children, and 73 questionnaires were distributed to dentists, a total of 25 questionnaires were collected from parents of autism children with a response rate of 29.07% and a response rate of 52.05% with a total of 38 questionnaires were collected from dentists, the study took place in the Public health Centres in Dubai Health Authority and Dubai Autism Center, Dubai, United Arab of Emirates. Results: Approximately 40% of the children of autism did not visit the dentist at all, and 35% of the child's oral health care was fair. 72% of the parents didn't know the autism type of their children whereas that 56% pf the parents were having a high school certificate and 12% are having an academic degree. More than half of parents described their children's condition as moderate and 64% of their children are not receiving any therapies in treating Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). As per the results it was mentioned that the main parent's barrier that made the dental procedure hard to be performed is the difficulty in finding a dentist who understands the child case and professional in treating autism spectrum disorder. According to the dentist's response it was noticed that almost all of the dentist agreed that they don't have enough knowledge in treating children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) with percentage of 82%. Conclusion: Awareness should be provided for parents in dealing with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) lack of knowledge about autism spectrum disorder (ASD) as per the response of the parents of autism children in Dubai Autism Center. There a clear lack of dental knowledge and experience regarding treating autism spectrum disorder (ASD) among the participant group of the dentists of Public Health Centres in Dubai Health Authority.
