In this work, zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) prepared by the precipitation method were employed as a potential adsorbent for the removal of Acid Black 210 (AB210) and Reactive Blue 19 (RB19) dyes from aqueous solutions. The prepared ZnO NPs were characterized using X‐ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and N2 adsorption/desorption methods. Various parameters affecting the removal efficiency, such as solution pH, shaking time, adsorbent amount, and the dye concentration, were studied and optimized. The experimental data were analyzed by different kinetic and isothermal models. This study suggests ZnO NPs as an effective adsorbent for the removal of the dyes from polluted water.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
