Artificial Intelligence is the focus term of the 21st century. It has been widely accepted and adopted in several key areas like education, marketing, retail, and engineering among numerous others however the healthcare sector seems to lag in its welcome. AI has the potential to unlock a new transformation in patient care, diagnosis, and mentoring and support services as seen from a review of relevant literature. It is therefore essential to understand how people view Artificial Intelligence and feel its need or demands in improving their health-related needs. This study was designed, keeping this thought in mind. A survey study was carried out in Delhi-NCR with fifty participants belonging to the age group of 18-50 years, who were health-conscious, and proficient in the use of technology like smartphones and other smart devices. The survey findings reveal that respondents desired the integration of Artificial Intelligence-based solutions to medical services ranging from appointment booking through intelligent chatbots to insightful diagnosis using risk profiles, intricate surgeries guided by intelligent robots to mentoring services which described health goals and discussed sustainable solutions towards achieving desired goals through lifestyle changes. Secondary data showed the application of such technologies in hospitals in form of unique personalized programs aimed at improving patient care and promote good health. The study further recommends the use of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare services in both rural and urban areas to reduce the burden on medical professionals, increase personalized and efficient healthcare service provision especially in times of global pandemic and increase people’s consciousness towards the need for good health through the adoption of positive lifestyle changes.
The study investigates the parents’ perspectives (mothers) of the challenges and opportunities posed by technology-related instruction for their wards with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) towards training and therapy. It considers both facilitation and barriers towards an evidence-based exploration to understand the factors from a viable and sustainable therapeutic standpoint. A structured interview schedule was designed and constructed to obtain rich qualitative data for analysis. The findings indicate the dire need expressed by parents to shift from online to offline learning environments for better management of individualised educational and therapeutic service demands of their autistic wards. The findings further indicate that parents support using video modelling, YouTube, Google Meet and other similar technologies for building digital skills, concentration and digital literacy among children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
A strong body means physical strength which has a positive impact on our personality and translates into a feeling of holistic well being. Man needs three basic things for survival: food, shelter and clothing. Nutrition is important. Eating a balanced diet is vital for good health and well being. Food provides our body with energy, protein, essential fats, vitamins and minerals. These in turn help us to grow, live and function properly. Health is wealth goes a popular saying. We need a variety of food to provide the right amount of nutrients for gaining good physical and mental health (NHMRC). Food is the source of all our bodily functions and directly affects our body and mind functions in every stage of life. Healthy food helps in disease prevention, maintenance of healthy weight, provides energy and impacts our quality of life (Sushant, 2015). The purpose of the present study is to understand the importance of good values of eating such as good eating habits, avoidance of junk food, maintenance of personal and environmental cleanliness, regular exercise and safety and their direct impact on personality development and overall well being. A detailed study was done of various secondary sources of data available on importance of food and its impact on overall well being, including a study of the Bhagwat Gita, which mentions various types of food desired by individuals according to their inherent tendencies. The findings from the study indicate that imbibing values of healthy eating such as eating healthy and hygienic food, eating food on time, doing regular exercise, following safety and security measures all have a direct impact on holistic well being. The personality also gets enhanced and a person feels good about himself and the world. Hence, there is a felt need to create awareness about healthy eating habits, need for regular sacrifice, maintenance of cleanliness and following safety measures among learners especially at the primary and secondary level thereby promoting holistic development for the youth.
Disability management and rehabilitation has achieved great strides over the past few decades. However, it has been seen that there is a lack of a common code of communication among professional working in the field of disability management. Absence of a common language regarding disability diagnosis can lead to gaps and redundancy often resulting in important information being missed from the diagnostic, assessment or evaluation reports. This further has an adverse impact on the intervention and training of such individuals. Hence, a strong need is felt to establish a mutual language of communication related to disability diagnosis and assessments. How to do so? The answer lies in using ICF codes and qualifiers for diagnosis and report writing in this field. The present study represents the benefits of using ICF towards estsablishing a common language for professionals in disability management and rehabilitation.
