In the 21st century, the educational institution needs to consider coverage graduates that success is not confined to academic ability, but more to the abilities and skills that will help graduates to compete in a global and digital world today. An important skill to have in the digital age, such as critical thinking skills, problemsolving, creativity, ability to communicate and collaborate as well as having the ability in information technology. This study conducted to describe the learning outcome and response of students with the use of science teaching material that integrated STEAM education and based on Jember's local wisdom. The design of development by using a model of ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate). This research has done in MTs. Bustanul Ulum, Jember in class VII A with 25 sample. The results of the validation average of 4.31 by experts 1, and 4.09 by experts 2. The results of students' cognitive and psychomotor are 73.84 and 91.8. The average score of student's response is 0.91. It means the teaching materials that developed is very valid, the value of the cognitive is good enough, the psychomotor is very high and the given of response is very positive, so the teaching materials are feasible to implement and this teaching materials can improved performance and student's motivation to learn.
The successful of intensive aquaculture is strongly influenced by the ability of the farmers to overcome the deterioration of water quality. The problem is low dissolved oxygen through aeration process. The aerator device which widely used in pond farming is paddle wheel aerator because it is the best aerator in aeration mechanism and usable driven power. However, the paddlewheel has a slow aeration rate resulting in low aeration efficiency. The problem is caused by the backward water splash ineffectively. The backward water of the paddlewheel that is already aerated, but it is splashed again so it wastes the power. However, only the forward splash is effectively. The aim of this study was to determine the ineffectiveness of paddlewheel aerator based on the backward water splash. The paddlewheel used an 1 phase motor, 1 hp power, 1400 rpm motor speed, and 2 pieces of wheels. The treatment was carried out by varying the blade of 65, 85, and 105 mm submerged. The test was done by collecting the forward and backward water splash and calculating its volume. The normal position of the float on the blade submerged by 85 mm was obtained that the forward and backward splash volume of water was 17.99 and 13.74 m3/hour. Only 56.70% the effectiveness of the water splash compared to 43.30% the backward water splash. In fact, the forward splash coverage volume of water was 47.83% compared to the forward was 52.17%. This result shown that the water splash of paddlewheel aerator was not effective, so the backward water splash need to optimize to the effectiveness of water splash.
The paper reports the tool wear in the drilling of composite panel in various cutting conditions. The drilling process was applied to 4mm thickness Kevlar composite panel by using HSS drill tool (2 flutes, 12 mm diameter, 17 mm length and 118° drill point angle). The process was conducted by using a vertical machining center. The tool wear was measured by using an optical microscope with the max precision 0.01 µm. The drilling process was conducted with a constant feed rate (75 mm/min) and three levels of spindle rotation speeds (1000, 3000 and 5000 rpm). Each cutting condition was applied to two different drill tools. In order to investigate the wear rate, the tool wear was measured in several levels of cutting time (i.e., after drilling of 5, 10, 20 and 30 drill holes). The result of the experiment shows that the cutting speed gives significant effect to the tool wear of HSS drill tool when drilling Kevlar composite panel. Higher cutting speed produced higher tool wear at any cutting time level. The result of the experiment also shows the effect of continuous / discontinuous cutting. Higher tool wear was found in a direct 20 holes drilling, compare to paused drilling (i.e., start with 10 holes, pause for 20 minutes then continue with other 10 holes).
This paper proves that the fundamental problem in teaching is the instructor who uses a bank style teaching model that casts off the potential of student creativity which leads to authoritarian feudalistic teaching in which students such as tabula rasa, blank white paper must be filled, therefore the facts empirically, the battle between the two models of teaching is still very much dominated by the teaching model in the style of the bank. By that, the writing of giving agat solutions to teaching models to problems is the choice of the instructors because this model is able to build participants' creativity and democratization in learning. With this model education can develop a humanizing mission for human beings, or students and able to produce generations that are of good quality in a scientific way, as well as morals seem to be realized.
