The objective of this document is to analyze the distribution of income in the states of the southeast region of Mexico during the period 2010-2016, to identify the levels of inequality in economic matters. For this, a documentary, descriptive and longitudinal investigation was carried out, analyzing six economic indicators reported by the Consejo Nacional de Evaluación de la Política de Desarrollo Social (CONEVAL) for the period studied: 1) Gini coefficient, 2) population in poverty situation, 3) vulnerable population by income, 4) population in extreme poverty, 5) population with income below the extreme poverty line by income and 6) population with income below the income poverty line. The results indicate that Chiapas, Guerrero and Oaxaca were the most vulnerable states due to low income levels, high poverty in general, and prevailing inequality in the region. In contrast, the state with the least economic vulnerability was Quintana Roo. The main contribution of the study lies in the identification of the poorest and most vulnerable states in the southeast of Mexico, as well as in the formulation of recommendations for the better distribution of income and poverty reduction in the analyzed region.
The objective of this research is to identify the levels of engagement experienced by education personnel in the State of Tabasco in times of pandemic, due to the sudden change that arose in the way of working, teaching, and the necessary reorganization in the individual and family level, which has caused certain reactions to change, stress, exhaustion, probable imbalances between work and personal life, among others, demanding the adoption of digital culture, virtual teaching, and other pedagogical strategies. The methodology used was quantitative, cross-sectional. A survey was applied to 499 workers. The findings show that the staff has developed resilience in the face of the current contingency.
A descriptive, quantitative study is presented, with a nonexperimental and cross-sectional design, carried out with the objective of describing the level of organizational justice perceived by the workers of a public university, hired under the outsourcing modality and its relationship with some demographic variables. The data collection technique was the survey and the instrument used to measure perceived organizational justice was the Niehoff and Moorman scale (1993) adapted by Patlán et al. (2014) for use with the Mexican population. The sample consisted of 16 workers from a public Higher Education Institution (IES) located in the state of Tabasco, Mexico. The study findings show that workers perceive average levels of organizational justice, predominantly interactional justice, followed by procedural justice and later distributive justice. In turn, it was identified that the academic degree was the only differentiating demographic variable with respect to the levels of organizational justice perceived by the population studied. The main contribution of the study was to consider as a population a segment of workers who, due to the characteristics of their hiring modality, have psychosocial implications that may affect their organizational performance.
The COVID-19 pandemic has led university professors to use new work modalities as demands exceed the response capacity, putting their occupational health at risk. This work provides the preliminary results of an ongoing investigation whose purpose is to determine the presence of Burnout that may be experienced by university professors in the State of Tabasco, Mexico, as a consequence of the adaptations they have made to continue working during the health contingency caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. In relation to the methodology, it is a descriptive, cross-sectional and quantitative research, which uses the survey as a data collection technique through an online form. The main contribution of this work is to provide indicators on occupational health that facilitate decision-making by educational authorities regarding the management of teaching staff working in Higher Education Institutions.
