We conducted the first study of the mental health impact on a group of women displaced by the 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots, a series of ethnoreligious violent attacks within India, and found a majority screened positive for either depression or PTSD due to the trauma sustained, yet had received limited, if any, mental health care since the riots.
