Relevance: Heel pain is one of the most common conditions leading to functional disabilities seen worldwide. There are different methods to manage heel pain, conservatively, and/or surgically. Physiotherapy treatment, as a part of conservative management, involves reduction of pain and improvement of functional ability by various approaches like exercise therapy, electrotherapy and manual therapy techniques. Various studies have shown that Diadynamic current and MENS along with conventional treatments give significant beneficial effects in pain reliving. Hence the present study was undertaken to compare and see the effect of Diadynamic current and MENS in heel pain. Participants: 30 subjects (mean age 25.73 ± 6.56) diagnosed with heel pain were recruited from OutPatient
COVID-19 pandemic is causing unprecedented human health and economic consequences all across the globe. Being an international health emergency, the current state of global and national preparedness is at peak. The cases in India are increasing every day in spite of substantial efforts and control measures by the health authorities. Indian citizen's knowledge, attitude, awareness, and practice influence their adherence towards COVID-19 control measures. This online study was conducted among Indian citizens KAAP towards COVID 19 during the national lockdown period. An online KAAP questionnaire was shared with four regional coordinators and it was shared with many citizens through online platforms in their regions. There were a total of 16 questionnaires in the KAAP online format. Among the survey respondents (n=12091), 57.9% were females, 51% hold an undergraduate degree, and 63.06% were from urban locality. The majority of the respondents (87.2%) had confidence that India will win the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic health crisis. Also the majority of respondents (86.5%) have adequate knowledge about the COVID-19. The COVID-19 knowledge scores were significantly lower in persons without the confidence of winning (P<0.001). In multiple logistic regression analysis showed that COVID-19 knowledge score (OR: 0.69, P<0.0001) were significantly associated with negative attitudes and preventive practices towards COVID-2019 with no confidence of winning. Most of the Indian citizens with an undergraduate degree, particularly females, have adequate knowledge about the COVID-19 pandemic, and they hold optimistic attitudes and follow appropriate practice towards COVID-19. More targeted and focused health guidelines meeting the various segments of the Indian population should be provided at improving COVID-19 knowledge, which will improve their optimistic attitude. Due to fewer respondents, the results should not be generalized to the entire population.
COVID-19 outbreak has proven itself as a causative factor of global concern and got declared as global health emergency on 30 January 2020 by WHO resulting in lockdown as a preventive measure by the Government. Due to which there is a massive effect of this COVID-19 pandemic lockdown on the mental and physical health of the population. So we conducted the study to learn about the changes of mental and physical health in the students. A self-administrated questionnaire was prepared; consists of questions pertaining to Personal information related to mental and physical health during COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. A pilot study was done on ten students for validity and reliability for a self-administrative questionnaire. This study was done on 201 college students of MGM Campus Aurangabad. After collecting the data, results were obtained giving the percentage of the population being affected mentally and physically with 67% of mental health was affected by 80% of the student population and 41% of physical health is affected by 80% of the student population. We concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic had a mild stressful impact in the present study, even though the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing.
Amid rise in Covid-19 cases throughout the world including India. So study was initiated to find out the impact on different domains of health. A self-administered questionnaire was prepared, which consist of questions pertaining to the change in physical and mental health along with the quality of life during the lockdown period and was distributed through Google forms. During the survey, a total of 663 responses were collected, of which 604 responses were analyzed. Out of responses that were calculated, the physical health of 370 participants (61.30%) was improved, physical health of 111 (-18.40%) participants has deteriorated and the remaining 123 (20.30%) participants barely changed. The mental health of 274 (-45.30%) participants was declined, 201 (33.20 %) respondents tried to maintain a healthy mental state while 129 (29.30%) members maintained a peaceful state of mind. The quality of life of 290(48%) was adversely affected, 218 (36%) participants were able to maintain a healthier lifestyle, and their quality of life increased, while 96 (15.8%) remained unchanged. Quality of life is most negatively hampered whereas there is improved physical health status in the adult population. All the 3 components are Physical and Mental health along with Quality of life was affected due to Covid-19 related lockdown but out of these, physical health was 61.3% positively affected while mental health and QOL were deteriorated by 45% and 48% respectively.
