Phytophagus coccinellid belong to Epilacchninae sub-family are very different the other coccinellid, and found in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. Henosepilachna elaterii Rossi. feeds on plants of Cucurbitacae family in groups in Europe, Africa and Asia. This pest is found the south Europe, Mediterranean regions, and south of Center Europe. Henosepilachna elaterii is a serious pest of watermelon and cantaloupe, and is a common pest in Aegean region and Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey. This species is a vector as different virus disease from health plant to disease plant. This study was carried out to determine biological parameters of Henosepilachna elaterii Rossi. (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) feeded on watermelon cultivars (Sürme, Galactica, Crimson sweet, Crimson tide and Sugar baby). The trials were made in laboratory conditioned at 16:8 h (day:night) and in 65 ± 5 % relative humidity at 25 ±1 ºC temperature. Data was collected on effect of host plants cultivars on preadult periods. Total development time at prematuring period was shortest at 25 ± 1°C on Crimson tide cultivar as 24.41 days and longest as 25.01 days on Sürme cultivars.
SummaryThis study was a survey undertaken with 233 cotton producers locating in Diyarbakır (Central, Bismil and Çınar), Mardin (Central, Nusaybin and Kızıltepe) and Şanlıurfa (Siverek, Harran and Viranşehir) with between 2011 and 2012. According to the results, 52% and %35 of the growers receive the suggestions and advices regarding to plant protection practices from pesticide dealers and technical experts, respectively. Also, 76% of the growers use pesticide according to the label instructions, 82% of them dispose pesticides wastes, and 76% of them obey the protective measures including wearing glove, mask, eyeglass etc. during the pesticide treatments.Keywords: Cotton, plant protection problems, poll survey
ÖzetBu çalışma, 2011-2012 yılları arasında Diyarbakır (Merkez, Bismil, Çınar), Mardin (Merkez, Nusaybin ve Kızıltepe) ve Şanlıurfa (Siverek Harran, Viranşehir) illerindeki toplam 233 pamuk üreticileriyle yapılmış bir anket çalışmasıdır. Pamuk üreticileriyle birebir görüşülerek toplam 12 soru sorulmuş ve bu sorulara verilen cevaplar değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre üreticilerin %52'si bitki koruma konularındaki tavsiyeleri ilaç bayilerinden %35'i ilgili teknik elemanlardan aldıkları belirlenmiştir. Üreticilerden %76'sının etikette belirtilen dozda ilaç kullandıkları, %82'sinin boş ilaç atıklarını imha ettikleri ve %76'sının ilaç uygulamaları sırasında eldiven, maske, gözlük gibi materyallerle koruyucu önlem aldıkları saptanmıştır.
This study was carried out during 2010 and 2012 in province of Batman, Turkey, for surveying the agromyzid fauna. The specimens were collected by rearing of the mine-infested leaves of different cultivated and non-cultivated host plants. Seven species belonging to three genera of the subfamily of Agromyzinae and two species belonging to one genera of subfamily of Phytomyzinae were collected. These species were Agromyza albitarsis, Chromatomyia horticola, Liriomyza bryoniae, Liriomyza cicerina, Liriomyza huidobrensis, Liriomyza strigata, Liriomyza trifolii, Phytomyza affinis and Phytomyza orobanchia. In this study, among all determined parasitoids, 3 species were belonging to family of Braconidae and 1 species were belonging to the family of Eulophidae and Aphidiidae each. Among them, Diglyphus isaea Walker was the most widespreading species.
