Background: Knowing the important relation between knowledge and skill is important because it reflexes the action that nurses do to save people life. Objective: This research aimed to determine the relationship between the nurse's knowledge level and their performance on cardiopulmonary resuscitation in critical and emergency care unit. Method: The study was quantitative descriptive with the crosssectional design used sequential sampling with 30 nurses in critical and emergency care unit. The data were analyzed using the Fisher Exact Test. Data was taken from questioner and observational assessment using a standard operating procedure which was developed by a hospital. Results: The results of this study found that there were 63.3% respondents which all of them had poor knowledge also poor performance on doing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Conclusion:There is a relation between nurse's knowledge level and the nurse's performance on undertaking cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The more knowledge they have the better performance they have on cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Routine training and evaluation may be useful to increase nurses' knowledge and skills.
Introduction: Understanding the trigger recurrence factors of mental illness patients is important because the number of mental hospital visits has been increasing every year, especially in mental illness patients who have experienced recurrence. This research aimed to identify and describe some of the types of trigger that result in recurrent readmission to the emergency unit of a psychiatric hospital.Methods: The study was designed using a quantitative method with a univariate and bivariate analysis approach using a cross-sectional design. The researcher conducted the study in the Emergency ward of Surakarta mental hospital for 2 months and obtained 71 total samples on patient readmission where there was a recurrent mental illness. The samples were taken using the accidental sampling technique. The data was taken using a questionnaire and analyzed using narrative description and central tendencies.Results: The results showed that the highest trigger recurrence factors were 58% related to patient compliance when taking medication. The results showed that there are various triggers for the recurrence of mental illness.Conclusion: These were evidenced by the family members who stated that they found the medication around the house or in the patient’s shirt pocket. The other trigger recurrence factors which were categorized as less influential were family support and the environment of society, which were 4%.
Pemahaman terkait pengalaman pasien gangguan jiwa setelah diberikan terapi guided imagery merupakan hal penting karena guided imagery adalah salah satu terpai modalitas yang dianjurkan untuk digunakan dalam membantu mengubah perilaku pasien gangguan jiwa yang maladptif menajdi adaptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali informasi terkait pengalaman pasien gangguan jiwa ketika guided imagery diberikan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian qualitatif dengan menggunakan metode narrative inquiry. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Surakarta selama 2 bulan. Total sampel berjumlah 16 pasien gangguan jiwa yang belum pernah mendapatkan terapi guided imagery dan sample diambil menggunakan teknik non-probability sampling. Data diambil menggunakan wawancara mendalam dan observasi tehadap responden. Analisis tematik adalah jenis analisis yang digunakan untuk menganalisa data tersebut. Hasil dari identifikasi tema ditemukan 2 tema utama berkaitan dengan pengalaman pasien gangguan jiwa ketika diberikan terapi guided imagery. Tema tersebut ialah resiko kekerasan terhadap orang lain dan yang kedua ialah perasaan nyaman. The researcher conducted the study at Surakarta mental hospital for two months. The samples were16 mental illness patient who has never received guided imagery therapy before and was taken by non-probability sampling. The data were taken by in-depth interview and observation toward the respondent. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data. The results of the theme identification found two main themes related to the experience of patients with mental disorders when given guided imagery therapy.
