An analysis of the main provisions of the existing geotechnical regulatory framework in the Republic of Kazakhstan is presents. The principles, criteria and conditions for defect-free, safe and productive piling underlying the CN RK 5.01-12-2003 and GDC RK 5.01-19-2005 are described. The principles, criteria and conditions for defect-free, safe and productive ram pits for foundations of buildings and structures forming the basis for CN RK 5.01-06-2002, CN RK 5.01-07-2002, GDC RK 5.01-09-2003 and GDC RK 5.01-17-2004 are sets out. The urgency of the harmonization of the active regulations with emission class and Euro codes, as well as the need to develop a number of new geotechnical codes is substantiated.
