Aim
This research aims to present a general summary of researches on workplace incivility in nursing using bibliometric indicators.
Background
Nurses regularly experience incivility from their working environment. However, evidence shows that it has significant potential for harmful consequences, both in terms of their health and in terms of productivity. Therefore, nursing and hospital managers have a crucial role in creation and maintenance of civil behaviour.
Method(s)
This research reports on a bibliometric analysis using a systematic review of academic literature on workplace incivility in nursing. A search of Web of Science databases was performed, and a total of 269 abstracts were investigated. Calculation of bibliometric indicator was done in Excel, and tag clouds had been created in VOSviewer.
Results
Nursing incivility literature is growing, and the United States contributed the largest number of papers. Studies have been carried out on nurses working in hospitals and nursing students in general. Topics are mainly focused on the organisational consequences of uncivil behaviour.
Conclusion(s)
This study reveals that there are not enough studies on workplace incivility in nursing.
Implications for nursing management
As a result obtained from this research, it especially recommends health care and nursing managers to research some risky groups and subject less studied yet.
The environment is an indispensable dimension of human life and affects important concepts such as health, quality of life, life satisfaction, and well-being. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of environmental elements such as air quality, forest area, waste services, and noise pollution on the well-being in Turkey. The data of the research were obtained from the well-being index for the Provinces Study prepared by the Turkey Statistical Institute in 2015. A hierarchical multiple regression model was performed to predict the relationship between the environmental variables and well-being by using the Statistical Package for Social Science. Income and education level of provinces were controlled variables of model. At the end of analyses, it was found out that only forest area was positively related with well-being (β = 0.191, t = 2.369, p = 0.020), and there were no association between the air pollution, the noise problems, waste services, and dependent variable. The survey results are expected to provide important evidence-based information about an association between environment and well-being to policymakers and academicians on environmental health and public health.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the causality between healthcare resources and health expenditure in Turkey over the period from 1975 to 2013. The empirical modeling was based on how GDP per capita, the number of doctor and number of hospital beds had an impact on the growth of health spending per capita. Data were gathered from the statistical databases of Turkstat, World Bank Indicators and OECD Health Data. Granger Var method was used to investigate causality between variables. Eviews 9 software was performed for the tests. At the end of the analysis, it was found out that, health expenditures per capita were affected by the number of physician per 1000 to population and it had an effect on GDP per capita. These results are expected to provide important information to health policymakers to understand which variables have an impact on dynamics of health expenditures in Turkey while they plan and control their limited resources.
