The aims of the research are to (1) identify character education in various Javanese traditional dance, (2) to analyze the needs, output, problems, and learning objectives of child-friendly schools (CFS) in implementing character education based on regional dance, and (3) to identify types of Javanese traditional dance values. The methods of collecting the data used literary studies, interviews, surveys, observations, and documentation. In analyzing the data, the researchers employed Research & Development model. Model of regional cultural development based on character education is supported through a psychological, educative, and socio-cultural approach, with qualitative descriptive analysis implemented in 2020. The research findings show that (1) identification character education in various Javanese traditional dance, (2) the needs, output, problems, and learning objectives of child-friendly schools (CFS) in implementing character education based on regional dance, and (3) types of Javanese traditional dance values. The implication of the research is the implementation of character education for elementary school students.
Coronavirus is a deadly threat to all humankind. Its sudden arrival confused the government and society. The government policy, which limits activities outside the home and demands people to avoid crowds, followed by learning from home, is a new burden for the community. This article aims to explain a mother’s new role as a teacher and build more effective family communication patterns in dealing with Covid-19. The research was carried out by collecting data from several respondents who live in the Surakarta area. This article’s object is related to the activities of mothers who are also online teachers to their children at home with different educational backgrounds and social statuses. This study’s results show that the Covid-19 pandemic was an opportunity for women as citizens and citizens to experience social change. First, related to the globalization vortex that is increasingly aggressively forcing women to come into contact with information technology more. Women, namely mothers, are invited to better understand user information technology to become teachers and accompany their children when learning from home. Second, this period at the same time provides an opportunity for Javanese women to further instill social moral values as provisions for their children in the future. Third, this period is an opportunity to improve ourselves so that they are more worthy of becoming a more meaningful creature.
Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan usaha untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat yang berkaitan dengan dampak pernikahan dini pada level pedesaan guna mencegah stunting dan gagal program Keluarga Berencana (KB) di Desa Blumbang, Kecamatan Klego, Kabupaten Boyolali. Selama masa pandemi Covid-19, terdapat peningkatan jumlah pernikahan dini yang terjadi di berbagai daerah termasuk Kabupaten Boyolali. Mitra dari kegiatan ini adalah perempuan relawan posyandu dari Dukuh Blumbang dan Dukuh Glagah Ombo, Desa Blumbang dengan permasalahan sebagai berikut: 1) kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat untuk melaksanakan kebijakan pemerintah tentang usia pernikahan perempuan minimal 19 tahun; 2) kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat khususnya yang masih tergolong pasangan usia subur untuk mendatangi posyandu atau berkomunikasi dengan para perempuan relawan terkait kesehatan dan gizi; 3) kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat untuk mengikuti program KB dan mengatur jarak kehamilan; 4) kurangnya tenaga relawan posyandu untuk mendatangi pasangan usia subur. Metode yang digunakan adalah: 1) melakukan observasi; 2) melaksanakan sosialisasi; 3) pelaksanaan kegiatan yang terbagi menjadi empat tahap. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama bulan Oktober 2021 sampai Januari 2022 menunjukkan hasil positif. Tim pelaksana pengabdian menemukan antusiasme aparat desa, perempuan relawan posyandu, perempuan yang menikah pada usia muda, ibu yang gagal dalam program KB, dan orang tua balita stunting dalam kegiatan sosialisasi, edukasi, dan pemberian makanan tambahan. Namun, kegiatan ini masih memiliki tantangan dalam mengatasi dampak pernikahan dini khususnya stunting dan peningkatan kelahiran bayi secara komprehensif dan terintegrasi dengan perencanaan pembangunan desa agar hasilnya lebih optimal.
Seventh day Adventist, as a religion-based transnational organization, have the potential to support global peace building. Seventh day Adventist exist in various countries in the world, including in Indonesia, as one of the plural countries that officially recognizes Christianity. This study aims to analyze the contribution of Seventh day Adventist transnational organizations to building global peace through tolerance by using case studies in Indonesia as the focus of research. This research is qualitative in nature with an intrinsic case study method. Data was collected using in-depth interviews, observation, and document studies. Informan include Seventh day Adventist regional church leaders, women administrators, Youth Ministries, Pathfinders, Adventists, other religious leaders, and non-adventist communities to support the triangulation of informan. The analysis is supported by the theory of neoliberalism and Huntington's clash of civilizations. The study found that the contribution of the Seventh day Adventist can be seen through a global identity that is firmly structured and consistent so that it is able to build and strengthen the value of tolerance of its members in various countries, which in turn encourages the building of global peace. As a religious-based transnational organization, Seventh day Adventist in Indonesia has activities that are consistent with a clear line of coordination from the regional to the international level. This is able to influence the values held by its members. In this way, these transnational organizations contribute to the quality of global peace.
