The present study aims to observe the impact of extracurricular activities on the academic performance of students at the secondary level in Multan city. All the students at the secondary level in the public sector of Multan city are the population of this study. Three hundred student’s 9th and 10th classes from (two) secondary schools from Multan city were selected. For this study, the researcher uses a simple random sampling technique. A total of 30 survey questions were developed based on Likert-scale type statement options (SA, A, N, DA, SDA), keeping in mind the objective of the study. The data were tabulated and analyzed by using descriptive statistical techniques. The MS-Excel is used for the descriptive analysis of the data. The study concluded that there is a severe need for the introduction of extracurricular activities, orientation programs for the students of secondary level. Extracurricular activities have a positive influence on students' life by improving their behavior, academic performance, better exam scores, more regular class attendance, a better self-image, due to these aspects which makes the students life more successful. Finally, the study suggests that Government should support the introduction of extracurricular activities in all secondary schools, allocate special funds, appoint special trainers/teachers, and fix their pay equal to other subject teachers.
The main purpose of the present study is to observe need assessment for guidance and Counseling services and its existing status at secondary level in Southern Punjab, Pakistan. Furthermore, it was important to identify the most common problems faced by the students at secondary level. The present study was delimited to different public and private sector secondary schools of districts including Multan, Khanewal and Lodhran from the province of Punjab. Target Population of the study was consisted of forty (40) secondary schools, out of which twenty (20) public and twenty (20) private sector secondary schools. Total three hundred and ten (310) students were taken as a sample by using simple random sampling technique by using table of random numbers. A Questionnaire was developed as research tool which was based upon five points (05) Likert-type scale to collect quantitative data. After data collection, data was coded to analyze by using SPSS software. The results of the present study showed that there was a need to introduce guidance and Counseling services at secondary school level to address the students’ dire needs. Moreover, orientation programs are needed to arrange for teachers to provide professional training about these services. It was also recommended that guidance and Counseling services are the best solution to resolve personal, psychological & educational problems, source of educational, professional & personality growth, development and motivation towards their studies.
The main purpose of this study was to analyze the impact on Mental Health and Motivation levels of university students because of nCOV-19. This study analyzed the perception of students’ mental health and Motivation level due to nCOV-19. The population comprised 25000 students of the University of Education Multan, Baha Uddin Zakariya University Multan, and MNS University of Agriculture Multan. They selected a sample of 250 students through the cluster and stratified sampling technique. A survey was conducted for the quantitative components of the study amongst students using a self-made questionnaire based on the factors of mental health and motivation level. Three factors of mental health are stress, anxiety, and depression. The researcher distributed and administered the questionnaires himself. The study reviewed relevant literature regarding nCOV-19, character and higher educational institutions, and other factors influencing these variables. The received information was broken down using illustrative and inferential measurements. Descriptive statistics included mean, median, mode, and standard deviation. The results show that students receive a high level of data collected about the motivational level of students. Both anxiety and depression at a low level, and stress at moderate level amongst university students during the nCOV-19 Pandemic. Inferential statistics included t-test, Pearson correlation, and linear regression. The commonness of stress and depression in females is greater than males with a minimum margin, which shows females face a slightly higher level of stress and depression than males. But the commonness of anxiety in females is greater than males with a moderate margin, which shows females face a higher level of anxiety than males. Pearson coefficient correlation indicates a negative low degree of correlation between the impact of motivational levels and students' academic achievement.
The purpose of the study was to analyze "sexual harassment and its psychological effects on the students at the university level." The objectives of the study were to identify the awareness and the causes of sexual harassment among university students. The main purpose of the study was to identify the factors that caused the increasing rate of sexual harassment in educational institutions. The data was collected with a five-point Like rt scale that consisted of thirty-nine (39 statements). The statements were further divided into five (05) factors. The factors related to ethnicity and gender, awareness about sexual harassment act, causes of sexual harassment, reporting of sexual harassment, psychological impacts of sexual harassment. A sample of three hundred (300) students was randomly selected out of the whole population of Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, from fifteen departments with equal ratios, male (150) and female (150) students were selected. The obtained scores were analyzed using different statistical methods. SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) was used for statistical data analysis. The results show that at university, girls try to impress others with their styles and gestures. This research indicated that psychological effects on the students are notable as they suffered mental trauma, stress, and anxiety.
The main purpose of the study designed to analyze the challenges of online learning during the Covid -19 pandemic at the Higher education level in Pakistan. Using a simple random sampling technique, a sample of five hundred and fifty (550) Higher-level students were selected from the target population. The survey method was used for the purpose of data collection. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a t-test for the gender-wise comparison of overall learning challenges of implementation of online learning using the SPSS. The results of the study included the need for face to face interaction, flipped classroom learning modalities, giving concise lectures with a shorter time period and increasing teacher-student interaction can be applied. Faculty needs training and students orientation in using online learning tools. Also provides technical experts in Universities. Creates an opportunity for students to use different technologies. Government should also develop national e-learning development centres in different cities of Pakistan.
