Abstract:The incidence of genital tuberculosis varies widely with the social status of the patient and her environment. The incidence is about 1% amongst gynecological patients attending the outpatient department in the developing country. Genital TB may be asymptomatic and the majority of women are diagnosed during investigations of infertility. Genital system TB represents 15-20% of extrapulmonary TB and is usually asymptomatic affecting mainly young women in the reproductive age group. Here we presented a case of genital TB which was diagnosed during laparotomy. After confirmation of diagnosis by histopathology, the case was successfully managed by anti-tubercular therapy for 9 months.
Abstract:Invasive mole is a condition where a molar pregnancy, such as a partial hydatidiform mole or complete hydatidiform mole, invades the wall of the uterus, potentially spreading and metastasizing to other parts of the body. Here is a case who presented with history of evacuation for molar pregnancy. She presented with irregular P/V bleeding on and off and after admission silent perforation with massive haemoperitoneum was detected for which emergency laparotomy was done. She recovered and was followed up till her β-hCG levels were within normal limits. As patient presented to us with haemoperitoneum and on laparotomy, there was invasion into whole of the uterus, it could not be saved and hysterectomy was done.
Several vaccines have been approved against COVID-19 infectious disease and are being given to pop-ulations in different regions of the world. But, the number of people getting vaccines are quite less than the targeted population for whom the vaccines are being kept for immunization purpose. Therefore, the study aimed to investigate the attitude and perceived risk towards COVID-19 vaccination decision in Bangladesh. An exploratory population-based survey was conducted among 186 general individuals chosen purposively from the metropolitan area of Dhaka. The survey was conducted using a structured and self-administered questionnaire. Multiple linear regression technique was performed to determine the variables predicting immunization decision. The findings reflect a significant positive attitude along with insignificant risk-taking behaviour towards COVID-19 immunization decision among the general population in Bangladesh.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
