Giving birth to another person's life is not a minor matter. Pregnancy canals be a risky condition that can lead to death, while some die; some survive a short-lived battle of death happens. This study aimed to identify risk factors for female pregnancy and find out the major pregnancy problems faced by pregnant women. Forty six women who teach in the Faculty of Education in Kathmandu, Nepal were taken as a sample size. A descriptive quantitative method was used where a structured questionnaire was filled with their consent. IBM SPSS 20version was used for statistical analysis which calculated the risk estimates odd ratio and confidence interval at 95%; the only normal frequency was tabulated and analyzed. This study finds that many risk factors in the pregnancy period like; health problems, lack of adequate knowledge, lifestyle exposure, and age factors. Hence women should be accompanied by their partner and family and society and support them during pregnancy time.
There is a huge public debate on CSE being amorous and inappropriate. The materials and curriculum for students are considered insufficient and inadequate due to socio-cultural factors, which are deep-rooted in society. Lack of knowledge about sexual and reproductive health and low access to sexual health services have forced young people to engage in unsafe sexual practices in Nepal. Sexuality education should cover lessons on the important role adolescents' sexuality that plays in their personality, positive things that sexuality brings to life, and the role our sexuality plays in connecting an individual with others. Complete sexuality education must be scientifically and age-appropriately precise, culturally competent, and based on people's rights, gender equality, and a positive approach to sexuality and pleasure based that sexuality education affects general health, adaptation to the environment and quality of life and contributes to an optimal life of your choice. Children and teenagers need to get precise clarification about understanding sexuality on how to practice healthy sexual behavior while unhealthy or exploitative risky sexual activity can lead to health and social problems, such as unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. The article reviews the current perspectives and situation of CSE among adolescents of Nepal. A review of government documents and research articles has been conducted, and the findings have been synopsized. Consequently, the curriculum developers and policymakers were provided with the recommendations to address common problems that are evitable among adolescents as well as guidelines for teachers' training on related topics.
This study aims to investigate engaged learning practices among undergraduate students in the field of chemistry. The study employed quantitative research design with a total of 88 students from two university campuses in the Kathmandu valley. The research employed a 30-item questionnaire with Likert type, developed based on relevant literature on student engagement, to collect data. The results indicated that the students displayed high levels of behavioural engagement such as staying focused on their chemistry studies, following their teachers' instructions, and completing their assignments and projects on time. Moreover, they were also found to be actively engaged in cognitive practices such as setting learning goals, exhibiting curiosity and interest in chemistry, and putting effort into understanding the concepts. Additionally, the students demonstrated high levels of emotional engagement by exhibiting a desire to understand chemistry, enjoying learning new information, and feeling positive and enthusiastic about the subject. The results of this research hold practical significance for decision makers, science instructors, and future investigators in related areas. The findings have added to the knowledge of the engagement of university level students in their chemistry education. These findings can be used by science instructors and decision makers to create more engaging and effective chemistry learning environments. By providing students with opportunities to engage in active and meaningful learning, instructors can help to ensure that students are successful in their chemistry courses.
Antenatal care is one of the most effective measures to reduce maternal mortality in Lower Middle-income Countries. The study aims to assess the utilization of antenatal care and related factors by breastfeeding mothers in Chitwan district of Nepal. A cross-sectional study was carried out in Bharatpur municipality in April 2020, among all women of the reproductive age group (15-49) who have had a birth child in the last 12 months before the survey date. A census sampling technique was used to select respondents. The vaccination period was two weeks. All the mothers who came to the vaccine center to vaccinate their children were the respondents of this study. The data were collected by using an interview schedule. The collected data were managed using SPSS Version 20. The study found that 84.31 percent of respondents attended more than four antenatal care utilization. The educational level of the respondents and the occupation of their partners were linked to the use of antenatal care. The number of pregnancies, the number of live births, the place of delivery, and the educational level and occupations of the birth attendees were also significantly linked to the use of antenatal care. Community mobilization and intensive use of community health workers are essential factors to improve the use of antenatal care.
