Optimal public policies, including education, have been applied for the sustainable economic growth of the European Union. In European countries, the use of Web 2.0 tools for increasing the education quality is constantly expanding, even if it is divided into two categories. One category consists of developed countries, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) members where there are the strongest of computing tools companies. Another category consists of OECD partner countries which hopes to fulfill the OECD requirements. The main study aim is the exploration of Web 2.0 tools adoptions for e-learning in one OECD candidate. A case study details how behavioral perceptions have been applied. Thus, a survey containing questions about socio-demographic characteristics alongside respondents' perceptions related to Web 2.0 tools for e-learning in higher education was applied. The research outcomes confirm the students' limited knowledge of Web 2.0. Authorities must indicate what measures are necessary for large-scale adoption of all Web 2.0 tools useful for education.
The article presents the key activities of a recent educational project (Lifelong learning of teachers of Romanian, English and French, in the knowledge society, POSDRU ID 87/1.3/S 62536), based on a teacher training program with ICT support. This project is implemented by Braila County School in partnership with the University of Bucharest, SIVECO Romania and TEHNE - The Center for Development and Innovation in Education, sustained in January 2011 - December 2013. Out of the 5000 teachers included in the target group were trained, using a form of applied curriculum, exchange experience and on-line collaboration. The aim of this paper is to describe an interesting link between the training curriculum and e-learning platform. We illustrate the results of the two training modules available on the project platform (Curriculum design and Differential education), both in interactive and text forms. The courses offered new curriculum design, implementation and assessment competences, adapting to pupils' features and current trends in (native and foreign) language teaching; new competences to develop learning experienced based on differentiated teaching, using interactive teaching-learning methods; develop capacities to interrelate within the professional community. We will present some evaluation results of the final report, including the impact of technology in teacher training. In this sense, the portal dedicated to teachers of Romanian, English, and French was appreciated as an efficient tool for professional communication. In synthesis, the project offered teachers new opportunities to develop a teaching career, through the certified training program and modern digital resources. In order to understand Mastery learning teaching models, this paper include a number of concrete examples of the lesson plans launched trough the national competitions, and presented during the two National Conferences.
The article summarises the main motives and drawbacks of students enrolled in a face to face semester course for / from participating in one'learning platform provided as a supplementary support to the face to face classes, namely Education Psychology and Pedagogy courses addressed to students from several faculties subscribed in the Psycho-pedagogical training module. The e'learningplatform was implemented on a moodle solution hosted by the Institute of Education Sciences - Dep. of Educational Management and Counselling through the Distance Education Centre - training.ise.ro. The instructional design is analysed and variables of formatting the platform explored (type of organisation of the course, planning of the study time, online and offline data processing tools, personal variables, organisation of the content and activity and resources used in the course, student - student, student - content and student - tutor interaction, access and familiarity with the platform) in order to facilitate a higher involvement of students in online activities and engagement with the proposed digital content through the different moodle facilities. The student preferences for different digital content formats are presented and their overall final performance assessed against the participation level in the online platform. Alternative solutions are suggested to meet the students learning styles and different experiences with e'learning environments providing illustrative samples of student work. The effectiveness of different knowledge testing solutions is explored including standalone offline based ones like behavioural self designed assessment spread-sheets versus online moodle based quizzes. The methods used include students' opinion surveys and online data analysis from both the moodle platform and other surveying solutions.
This article presents the evolution of a project in CASLT domain (computer assisted speech and language therapy) who aims to develop, test and validate computer-aided multiplatform technologies with a high degree of interactivity in language training. Adapted to the linguistic specificity of the Romanian language, this technology becomes a support, not only through the practical tools, but also through the content applied to language development. Technological progress has a significant potential by solutions creation to diminish language disorders. In Romania there are many effective resources. Such an example of a digital platform is TIMLOGORO, which has recently been developed for speech therapy. The designers developed modules using digital games under the guidance of a virtual avatar. The platform also aims to meet the needs of specialists, offering a wide range of attractive activities, as well as games for vocabulary enrichment and the expressive and perceptual language training. TIMLOGORO technology will work with interactive games guided by an avatar specifically created, following the principles used in speech disorders. In respondents opininons, technology is a powerful tool for correcting and alleviating language disorders, with digital support as a resource for diagnosis and intervention for: speech therapists, school counselors, teachers, parents of children with and without disabilities. Timlogoro platform have a number of advantages, reported by the students. Many users and practisioners knows to access computer-based applications that enable them to communicate and write messages in various forms such as text, audio, images, video, animation and simulation. In the field of speech therapy, the respondents appreciate this personalized, collaborative and interactive learning method.
This article presents the results of a research recently collected in a PNCDI III project, named Multiplatform interactive information technologies with applications in Romanian language for speech therapy. TIMLOGORO project demonstrates that technology is an effective tool for learning and, in particular, in improving speech at any age stage. This research aims to investigate the degree of parental openness on the use of technological platforms in children's speech therapy. The method used in this study was a survey based on a questionnaire, the tool comprising a total of 16 items with the Lickert scale response from 1 to 5. The questionnaire contains items that aim to investigate the general and particular opinion of working with the technological resource. The participants in this study are represented by a number of 40 children's parents who presents language disorders. The study aims to obtain relevant information about the importance of using digital platforms in speech therapy at parents. Research provides answers to key themes of interest, such as access to digital platforms, the use of technology, the qualities and features of efficient digital platforms. The open and supportive attitude of parents to the use of digital resources in speech therapy is one of the essential elements for the efficiency of the therapeutic act and the solving of speech problems. The results obtained in this research will be introduced into the SPSS statistics program and will be carried out statistical tests and graphs that will strengthen the scientific and pedagogical argument of the mentioned project, an argument necessary for evaluating the Timlogoro digital platform.
