This study set out to examine the effectiveness of project-based science learning towards pre-service teachers literacy skills and learning creativity in wave and optical materials. This quasi-experimental study involved 115 students of Primary Teacher Education Program, Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta. Direct and in-depth data dissemination techniques were used in this study. The aspects of creative thinking abilities include fluency, authenticity, elaboration, and flexibility. Mann Withney U test was used to test the hypothesis, while the N-Gain test was performed to determine the pre-service teachers improvement in scientific literacy skills and creative thinking. Both qualitative and quantitative data analyses were performed in this study. The results showed that: 1) material and optical tools–based learning activities are appropriate for the pre-service teachers scientific literacy skills and creative thinking. The correct answer term includes the highest average probability statistics from other subindicators; 2) aspects of science that are used in the aspects of literacy is in good category but the originality aspect in its ability needs to be developed and processed continuously. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimen semu. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 115 siswa semester Program Pendidikan Guru Pratama, Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta. Teknik penyebaran data langsung dan mendalam. Aspek kemampuan berpikir kreatif meliputi kelancaran, keaslian, elaborasi, dan fleksibilitas. Untuk menentukan besarnya peningkatan keterampilan literasi sains dan siswa berpikir kreatif digunakan N-Gain Test hipotesis menggunakan tes Mann Withney U. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) kegiatan pembelajaran berbasis material dan alat optik sesuai untuk keterampilan literasi sains dan pemikiran kreatif siswa. Istilah jawaban yang benar mencakup statistik probabilitas rata-rata tertinggi dari subindikator lainnya; 2) aspek ilmu yang digunakan dalam aspek literasi dalam aspek yang baik tetapi aspek orisinalitas dalam kemampuannya perlu dikembangkan dan diolah terus- menerus. Rendang is a kind of food that has become one of cultural heritages of Minangkabau tribe. It is not only a local food that has been crowned the best food in the world by CNN, but it also serves as the cultural identity. Most of people think that rendang is only made from beef of buffalo meat. In fact, rendang has many varieties that relate to the types of the area and the local natural resources where it is cooked. West Sumatra consists of mountainous and coastal areas. One of the popular rendang varieties in coastal areas is Rendang Lokan—it is not made from beef but oyster (lokan). Rendang Lokan is a kind of food for people who live in this area. They use resources of the sea for their foods. Rendang, for Minangkabau tribe, is not only considered as a traditional food but also as a symbol of cultural identity from a certain area. This article is aimed at discussing the history of using Oyster as the main ingredient for rendang as one of the rendang varieties coming from the coastal areas in West Sumatra. The results show that rendang lokan is a representation of the characteristics of Minangkabau people who have the ability to adapt themselves to the local environmental conditions in maintaining their cultural identity. Rendang lokan was initially created as the adjustment of the Minangkabau people who live in the coastal areas to the local natural resources and their economic conditions.
AbstrakSalah satu faktor penting yang mempengaruhi work engagement adalah kompetensi. Terdapat inkonsistensi dengan penelitian sebelumnya mengenai peran dari perceived competency terhadap work engagement di kalangan pekerja yang mangalami horizontal education mismatch. Oleh karena itu, penelitian dilakukan untuk menguji apakah ada pengaruh perceived competency terhadap work engagement terutamanya pada pekerja yang mengalami horizontal education mismatch. Responden penelitian ini terdiri dari 566 pekerja yang mengalami horizontal education mismatch, dengan rentang usia 19-55 tahun dan merupakan lulusan sekolah kejuruan ataupun sarjana strata 1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perceived competency memiliki efek positif terhadap work engagement pekerja yang mengalami horizontal education mismatch di Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, dan Bekasi. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa komp etensi intelektual memberikan pengaruh terbesar kepada work engagement, terutamanya pada dimensi vigor dan dedication. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pekerja yang memiliki kompentensi intelektual yang tinggi juga akan menunjukkan vigor dan dedication yang tinggi di tempatnya bekerja. There were inconsistencies with previous studies regarding the role of perceived competency on work engagement among employees with horizontal education mismatch. Therefore, this study was conducted to verify whether there is an effect of perceived competency on work engagement especially among horizontal education mismatch workers. The respondents consisted of 566 horizontal education mismatch worker aged 19-55 years who graduated vocational high school or bachelor's degree. The results showed that perceived competency had a positive effect on work engagement among horizontal education mismatch workers in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi. This study also found that intellectual competence had the greatest influence on work engagement, especially in Vigor and dedication dimension. That means if the employees have a high intellectual competency, they will also have high vigor and dedication in their workplace.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh antara gaya belajar matematika dan minat belajar matematika siswa terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian noneksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian survey design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMPN 1 Pogalan kelas VIII D sebanyak 30 siswa. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Instrument data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunaan skala gaya belajar dan minat belajar siswa dengan empat pilihan jawaban, serta soal pilihan ganda yang berjumlah 20 soal. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini meliputi: observasi, angket gaya belajar, angket minat belajar, tes pilihan ganda, wawancara. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas dan uji regresi ganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara gaya belajar matematika dan minat belajar matematika siswa terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMPN 1 Pogalan Kelas VIII D, atau dengan kata lain terdapat pengaruh hasil belajar matematika yang memiliki minat belajar dan gaya belajar yang berbedabeda.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemahaman konsep IPA mahasiswa calon guru SD berdasarkan motivasi belajar, keterampilan proses sains, kemampuan multirepresentasi, jenis kelamin, dan latar belakang sekolah. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester III TA 2016/2017. Analisis pemahaman konsep menggunakan metode CRI. Hasil menunjukkan: 1) Pemahaman konsep IPA dengan kriteria paham konsep sebesar 82,64%, tidak paham konsep sebesar 4,86%, dan miskonsepsi sebesar 12,50%; 2) Pemahaman konsep calon guru SD berdasarkan motivasi belajar kategori tinggi lebih baik daripada yang kategori rendah; 3) Pemahaman konsep calon guru SD berdasarkan keterampilan proses sains kategori tinggi lebih baik daripada yang kategori rendah; 4) Pemahaman konsep calon guru SD berdasarkan kemampuan multirepresentasi kategori tinggi lebih baik daripada yang kategori rendah; 5) Pemahaman konsep calon guru SD perempuan lebih baik daripada laki-laki; 6) Pemahaman konsep calon guru SD yang berasal dari SMA (IPA) lebih baik daripada yang berasal dari SMA (IPS) dan SMK.Kata kunci: Pemahaman Konsep IPA, Motivasi, Kemampuan Multirepresentasi ANALYZING THE UNDERSTANDING OF SCIENCE CONCEPT BASED ON LEARNING MOTIVATION, SCIENCE PROCESS SKILLS, MULTIREPRESENTATION ABILITY, GENDER, AND BACKGROUND OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER EDUCATION STUDENTAbstract This research aims to analyze the students understanding as elementary school teacher candidates about science knowledge concept based on motivation to learn, science process skills, multi-representation ability, gender, and their school background. The subjects in this researcharestudents who are in the third semester of school year 2016/2017. CRI methodology have been used to analyze the understanding of the concept. The result indicates: 1) Understanding about science concept has 82.64 percent of students understand the concept, 4.86 percent of students do not understand the concept, and 12.50 percent of students get misconceptions; 2) Understanding aboutconcept of elementary school teacher candidates based on learning motivation states that the high category better than the low category; 3) Understanding aboutconcept of elementary school teacher candidates based on the science process skills shows that the high category is better than the low category; 4) Understanding aboutconcept of elementary school teachers candidates based on the multi-representations ability indicates that high category is better than the low category; 5) Understanding aboutconcept of the female elementary school teacher candidates is better than the male ones; 6) Understanding aboutconcept of elementary school teacher candidates who have IPA background in the high school is better than those derived from IPS background and vocational high school (SMK).Keywords: Science Concept Understanding, Motivation, Multirepresentation
