Phronima suppa (Phronima sp.) belongs to an endemic microcrustacea species inhabiting certain brackish water pond in Wiringtasi Village, Suppa Sub-district, Pinrang Regency, Indonesia. It has an important role to increase vitality and immunity of tiger prawn (Penaeus monodon) and to improve environmental quality of the brackish water pond. This species has potential chance to substitute the use of Artemia. Population of Phronima suppa in nature fluctuates, falls and even perishes after around 15 days. This study aims to produce Phronima suppa to be used as inoculant in the prawn brackish water pond and to substitute the use of Artemia in hatchery. The study is conducted in May to November, 2013 in the Field Laboratory of Fisheries and Maritime Science, Muslim University of Indonesia in Pinrang Regency. Phronima suppa is cultivated in controlled basin under treatment (A) by Chlorella sp, treatment (B) by Chaetoceros sp, and treatment (C) by combining Chlorella sp and Chaetoceros sp. Observed variables consist of production and water quality. The study is designed in form of Completely Randomized Design (CRD) by three treatments, while each of the treatments consist of three repetitions. Combination of Chlorella sp and Chaetoceros sp (treatment C) delivers the highest production by 35.67 ± 15.01 individual/l followed by treatment B by 34.67 ± 7.51 individual/l and treatment A by 27.35 ± 0.57 individual. This production increases in day 17 up to day 24. Productive period of Phronima suppa in the controlled basin is longer than in endemic habitat.
Phronima Suppa (Phronima sp) application on hatchery and pond cultivation has succeeded in increasing the survival, growth, and production of black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon). Phronima has great potential in improving the performance of the national and global shrimp industry while also substituting the use of Artemia salina. Phronima suppa lives endemic in Tasiwalie Village and Wiringtasi Village in Pinrang District, South Sulawesi Province. Phronima Suppa distribution to various regions and countries is constrained by storage systems using water media. Phronima dormant’s biomass production is an effective solution to the constraints of storage and transportation. The application of cryptobiosis produces low temperature stress to produce Phronima dormant’s. This study aims to determine the effective temperature and activation period to produce Phronima biomass dormant’s. The study was conducted at the Phronima Suppa Installation of Universitas Muslim Indonesia in Tasiwalie Village. The treatments in this study were three and each with three replications. The treatment of cryptobiosis in the first phase of the study consisted of temperature levels of 8 °C, 4 °C, and 0 °C. The activation period of dormant Phronima biomass with the application of cryptobiosis at a temperature of 8 °C in the second phase of the study was 3 hours, 8 hours, 13 hours and 24 hours activation period. The highest biomass survival (60%) was generated in the 24 hours activation period with cryptobiosis at a temperature of 8 °C.
Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis pendapatan dan R/C-ratio dan menganalisis aspek finansial payback period (PP), net present value (NPV), profitabilitas indeks (PI), internal rate of return (IRR) dan avarange rate of return (ARR). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada usaha roti cipta usaha (KUB IK) di Kelurahan Anreapi, Kecamatan Anreapi, Kabupaten Polewali Mandar yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei sampai Agustus 2019. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah pimpinan dan seluruh karyawan KUB IK Cipta Usaha dan sampel yang digunakan penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan metode sensus yaitu teknik penentuan sampel dengan pertimbangan tertentu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jumlah produksi pertahun yang dihasilkan yaitu 52.046 buah dengan harga Rp 3.000/bungkus. Penerimaan Usaha Roti Lembut sebesar yaitu Rp 156.138.000/pertahun yang dihasilkan dengan total biaya Rp 94.682.698/pertahun. Sehingga pendapatan pertahun yaitu sebesar Rp 61.455.302 dengan R/C-ratio sebesar 1,65 yang berarti usaha layak dikembangkan. Analisis kelayakan usaha Roti Lembut layak diusahakan, dimana nilai NPV yaitu sebesar Rp 113.817.437,618 dengan diskon faktor 15%. IRR sebesar 37,006% yang berarti NPV akan mengalami keseimbangan atau untung atau rugi pada usaha dengan suku bunga tersebut dan usaha ini layak dikembangkan karena lebih besar dari suku bunga yang digunakan. Payback period atau pengembalian investasi yaitu 3 tahun 3 bulan 9 hari dengan jangka waktu cukup cepat untuk usaha. PI sebesar 1,23 yang berarti layak karena lebih dari 1 dan ARR sebesar 59% potensi pengembalian investasi.
Abstract. The climate anomaly was adapted through the adjustment of tiger shrimp stocking patterns and optimum use of locally endemic Phronima Suppa (PS) to suit the season. Thus, the batches period determined was adjusted to suit climate change dynamics, reducing the shrimp stocking density down to 10.000 -15.000 per ha and applying PS so the shrimp became tolerant of any environmental stress and pathogen infection. The knowledge of adaptation to climate anomalies, a learning outcome of the field school, managed to increase the average production of tiger shrimp to 217 kg/ha with an average receipt of IDR 22.60 million/ha.
