This research aims to know the meaning of denotation, the connotation and the myth or ideology in television commercials POND'S Men that represent the masculine with #LelakiMasaKini edition. The method used in this research is the Semiotic analysis methods. The Semiotic analysis used in this research is the Semiotic Roland Barthes. The results of this research show that there are; meaning denote, the connotation and the myth or ideology in television commercials POND'S #LelakiMasaKini. The results obtained from the signs of the dominant in the preview scenes that are taken in accordance with the criteria that have been determined. Advertising on Rio Dewanto version described three meaning denotes, three meaning of the connotations and three myths. On the version of the advertisement, Keenan Pearce described three meaning denotes, three the meaning of the connotations and three myths or ideologies and on the version of the Marshall Sastra described three meaning denotes, three the meaning of the connotations and 3 myths or ideologies. Concluded the side or the form of masculinity is promoted of the physical appearance of the type of men who tend to metrosexual, the dream of women, the leader success, lack men who think creatively and have hobbies.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui makna denotasi, konotasi serta mitos atau ideologi dalam iklan televisi POND’S Men yang merepresentasikan maskulinitas dengan edisi #LelakiMasaKini. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis semiotik. Analisis Semiotik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis semiotik Roland Barthes. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat makna denotasi, konotasi serta mitos atau ideologi pada iklan televisi POND’S Men #LelakiMasaKini. Hasil itu diperoleh dari tanda-tanda dominan pada cuplikan adegan-adegan yang diambil sesuai dengan kriteria yang telah ditentukan. Pada iklan versi Rio Dewanto digambarkan 3 makna denotasi, 3 makna konotasi, dan 3 mitos. Pada iklan versi Keenan Pearce digambarkan 3 makna denotasi, 3 makna konotasi dan 3 mitos atau ideologi dan pada versi Marshall Sastra digambarkan 3 makna denotasi, 3 makna konotasi dan 3 mitos atau ideologi. Disimpulkan sisi atau bentuk maskulinitas yang dipromosikan adalah tampilan fisik tipe laki-laki yang cenderung metroseksual, dambaan wanita, pemimpin yang cerdas dengan kesuksesan, lak-laki yang berpikir kreatif dan memiliki hobi.
The empowerment of Indonesian post-migrant workers (Purna PMI) is carried out continuously to reduce the numbers of Indonesians working abroad. Aside from programs of related agencies, the government also involves direct community participation. This study sought to describe the participatory development communication (PDC) of Forum Purna PMI in Desa Celak, Kecamatan Gununghalu, Kabupaten Bandung Barat. This study used case study approach to provide a complete and in-depth view of the subject under study. The nature of the subject was multi-source, with key informants representing bureaucrats, academics, community leaders and post-migrant workers. Data was collected through interviews, observations and literature study. The results showed that community involvement was an important factor in realizing community development communication. Direct involvement in the planning and implementation of empowerment programs in the village fosters the community awareness to build their village, to get a job, to improve their welfare and to not leave their village in order to be a migrant worker.
Artikel ini menelusuri perilaku pencarian informasi pertanian melalui media online pada petani jahe, Kelompok Tani Jahe Putri Mandiri Di Desa Putri Dalem Kecamatan Jatitujuh Kabupaten Majalengka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui mengapa petani jahe Putri Mandiri membutuhkan informasi pertanian melalui media online; bagaimana pola komunikasi yang dilakukan petani jahe putri mandiri dalam mengimplementasikan pencarian informasi pertanian; dan peranan informasi dalam pemecahan masalah. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa kebutuhan informasi petani Jahe Putri Mandiri menjadikan media online sebagai pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi dalam Pencarian Informasi Pertanian dan penanggulangan penanaman jahe dengan sistem polybag. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu: Mereka merasa belum cukup mendapatkan penyuluhan dalam pengetahuan pertanian, sehingga ketua kelompok perlu untuk memperbaiki pola bercocok tanam jahe melalui media online; Petani mendapatkan informasi pertanian yang dibutuhkan melalui media online yaitu Google, Yahoo, Facebook, dan Twitter dan selanjutnya mendapatkan bantuan dari pakar pertanian di bidang jahe gajah; Pola komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh petani dan ketua kelompok petani setiap hari selalu menggunakan media online; Penggunaan Media online terhadap petani sangat cocok untuk diimplementasikan tentang tanaman jahe gajah pada Desa Putri Dalem, Jatitujuh, Majalengka; Informasi yang diperoleh petani melalui media online. Selanjutnya petani mendiskusikan dengan kelompok petani jahe di Indonesia melalui media online, setelah itu mereka mendiskusikannya lagi dalam kelompok tani jahe putri mandiri terutama yang berkaitan dengan cara-cara penanggulangan permasalahan jahe gajah.
Women’s decision to be a migrant worker may cause problems in their domestic functions and roles, including childcare. Children may only be taken care of by a father, not both parents as it should be, or even a member of extended family. The negative impact of labor migration on family, particularly left-behind children, has not been a concern of the authorities of the country. This study sought to describe the parenting system for left-behind children in West Java. It used the Case Study method with Karawang and Bandung Barat Regencies were purposively selected as the population. Data were collected by interviewing and observing 20 key-informants, i.e. the householders of the migrant families. The result showed that parenting in migrant worker families was held by husbands/fathers by providing the best care and education for their children. Still, it is different from how a mother may apply it. In some aspects, the mother’s role is irreplaceable, particularly at the early development stage. Occasionally, grandmothers and aunts help the fathers to look after the children in order to reduce the fathers’ burden. The study found five types of a father in the father-and-left-behind-children relationship: (1) an intimate father; (2) a plain, distant father; (3) a strict, authoritative father; (4) a spoiling father; and (5) an indifferent father.
