3-(3-Butylamino-2-hydroxy-propoxy)-1-hydroxy-xanthen-9-one Acts as a Topoisomerase IIα CatalyticInhibitor with Low DNA Damage. -Several new aminoalkylxanthone derivatives (III) (8 examples) are synthesized by alkylamine mediated epoxide ring opening reaction of compounds (I), and evaluated for their pharmacological activities. Compound (IIIb) shows strong inhibition of topoisomerase IIα and efficient cytotoxicities against T47D and HCT15 cells. It can be a potential anticancer agent acting as topoisomerase IIα inhibitor with low DNA damage. -(PARK, S.-E.; CHANG, I.-H.; JUN, K.-Y.; LEE, E.; LEE, E.-S.; NA, Y.; KWON*, Y.; Eur. J. Med.
