The new deep‐blue iridium complex, Ir(dppfm)2pic, consisting of a phosphoryl group at the 3′‐position of the phenyl ring and a methyl group at the 4‐position of pyridine, was synthesized and characterized for applications in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). Ir(dppfm)2pic exhibited an emission peak of 455 nm and high photoluminescence quantum yields of 73 %. Phosphorescent OLEDs based on Ir(dppfm)2pic exhibited a maximum external quantum efficiency of 7.8 % and Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.15, 0.22).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
