Rapid development of technology and challenges in upcoming industrial revolution 4.0 require students to equip themselves with relevant competencies. The success of students as prospective workers will depend on this. Initial stage for students is to have clarity on the direction of career preparation. Adequate career preparation, including the accuracy of career decision making is synchronized between their potential versus what is desired (Sharf, 2002). Internal factorof students’ success in choosing a future career is by having strong characters. Character with perseverance and great desire to achieve long-term goals in a long time is known as grit ((Duckworth, Peterson, Matthews & Kelly, 2007). This study aims to identify the influence of grit and gender on career decision making among Psychology faculty’s students in UniversitasMuhammadiyah Lampung. The research involved 83 students from 4 classes and using quantitative research method using a scale as a data collection tool. Results of empirical research prove that grit and gender are proven to significantly influence students' career decision making. Grit correlate to career decision making with pearson-correlation score 0.519 (p <0.001) and gender correlate to career decision making with pearson-correlation score 0.277 (p <0.005). Simultaneously, grit and gender make 28% (p<0.000) effective contribution to student’s career decision making. Further research is expected to be able to examine the interventions that can be done to improve the ability of taking career decisions for students.
Pemakaian internet tidak lagi menjadi suatu komoditas yang langka. Sebaliknya, yang tidak menggunakan internet akan jauh tertinggal dan tidak akan mampu beradaptasi dengan perubahan yang cepat. Disisi lain, penggunaan internet secara berlebihan akan menimbulkan masalah yang lebih besar seperti kecanduan. Generasi yang paling terdampak perkembangan teknologi informasi yang pesat adalah generasi Z. Generasi Z lahir tahun 1995-2009 sehingga masuk ke dalam kategori remaja awal sampai dengan akhir di tahun 2020. Adiksi terhadap internet dapat memberikan dampak negatif berupa masalah psikologis maupun sosial pada diri remaja. Contoh masalah tersebut antara lain rasa kesepian, depresi hingga penurunan prestasi belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh self-compassion dan grit terhadap adiksi internet pada generasi Z. Metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan skala jenis likert akan digunakan. Subjek penelitian melibatkan 318 individu yang termasuk dalam usia generasi Z dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil akhir menunjukan bahwa self-compassion dan grit berpengaruh secara signifikan (p<0.01) terhadap adiksi internet generasi Z sebesar 20.8%. Secara terpisah, grit berpengaruh terhadap adiksi internet sebesar 17% sedangkan self-compassion berpengaruh terhadap adiksi internet sebesar 18%. Penjelasan mengenai dinamika hubungan diantara ketiga variabel dijelaskan dalam pembahasan.
Tanggal masuk 20-12-2019 Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis secara empiris bagaimana karakter grit terhubung dengan perilaku ta'awun relawan. Penelitian ini akan menggunakan pendekatan grounded theory. Metode pengumpulan data melalui in-depth interview, observasi dan FGD. Integrasi data menggunakan triangulasi metode dengan melalui tiga tahap utama yaitu open, axial dan selective coding. Responden penelitian terdiri dari empat orang relawan muda yang memiliki kriteria sebagai relawan di Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Centre (MDMC), berstatus mahasiswa dan memiliki pengalaman lapangan di daerah kebencanaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat lima tema utama dalam perilaku ta'awun relawan muda Muhammadiyah yaitu: (1) attention to others; (2) helping others; (3) considerate others; (4) positive achievement; dan (5) positive consequences. Karakter grit yang ada dalam perilaku ta'awun relawan muda Muhammadiyah bergerak sebagai rovering to success dalam menggerakan relawan muda untuk memberikan nilai kebermanfaatan secara tuntas dalam proses membantu penyintas.
A child protection refers to any efforts aimed at ensuring and protecting children and their rights so that they can grow, develop, and contribute to their full potential while remaining safe from violence and discrimination. Child protection is handled by a number of organizations, namely the Child Protection Institute, Lampung, the child advocacy institution of Damar Lampung, and the Technical Implementation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children, Lampung. Despite the fact that these three organizations exist and operate, family violence against children continues to rise. The conclusions are (1) Threats, compulsion, fear, opportunity, power relations, economy, patriarchy, lack of morals, inability to control themselves, retribution, and lack of attention from biological moms to children's behavior are all prevalent reasons of violence against children in three institutions. The difference is that there is a sexual disorder, husband is afraid of his old wife, lack of communication between children and mother, home environment, access to meet is cut off, mother dies, revenge, persuasion, habit of having sexual relations. Study/add insight into Islam and practice it, learn and practice good morals, hang out a lot with pious and pious people, exercise self-control, psychological approach, intensity of education are some of the solutions to decrease them. (2) The types of services provided by child protection institutions, child advocacy institutions, and the Technical Implementation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children (UPTD PPA) are similar in terms of type of service, legal basis, service principle, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for mentoring, code of ethics, and ethics, but each has its own characteristics in terms of technical assistance, human resources, funding sources, and facilities. (3) The hadhanah concept (care, care, and education) is reflected in the perspective of Islamic family law and positive law on child protection carried out by three institutions, referring to Law No. 4 of 1979 concerning Child Welfare, Law No. 35 of 2014 on Child Protection, Law No. 11 of 2012 on Child Criminal Justice, Law No. 23 of 2004 on Marriage, Compilation of Islamic Law leading to District Courts (Criminal), Religious Courts (Civil), and Mediation.
Achieving long-term goals is the main focus of every company as a manifestationof a firm sustainability. Employees as the backbone of the company need positive behavior and a strong desire to achieve this long-term goal. This positive character with long-term assurance is called grit. The current problem is the high level of turnover of company employees which is one indicator of the lack of attachment of employees in achieving the company's long-term goals. Grit is predicted to be able to support the achievement of the company's long-term goals and empirically able to reduce turnover rates. The purpose of this study is to test empirically whether there are significant differences in grit behavior based on employee demographics in one of FMCG company in Bandar Lampung. This study uses a mixed method with a scale for quantitative data and open questions for qualitative data. The total subjects involved in this study were 115 employees. Data were analyzed using SPSS 24.0 program. The results showed that there were no significant differences in employee grit behavior in terms of age, sex, work period and education. The results of qualitative data analysis through data transformation found several possible main factors in working, such as good teamwork, assurance of occupational safety and health, adequate work facilities, a fair recognition system, a work environment that facilitates self-development, communication and good relations subordinate supervisors and consistent application of company regulations.
