The main objective of this research is to investigate efficiency of use of supplementary video content in multimedia teaching. Integrating video clips in multimedia lecture presentations may increase students’ perception of important information and motivation for learning. Because of that, students can better understand and remember key points of a lecture. Those improvements represent some important learning outcomes. This research showed that segmentation of teaching materials with supplementary video clips may improve lecture organization and presentation in order to achieve effective teaching and learning. The context of the video content and the position of supplementary video clips in teaching material are important influences on factors for motivation and efficiency of learning. This research presents the effects of the use of supplementary videos with different context of content (entertainment and educational) as well as the effects of their position within the teaching material. The experimental results showed that the most efficient method of use of supplementary video is integration with educational video content in the middle of a lecture. This position of video insertion provides the best results. The context of video content influences efficiency of learning also. Entertainment video was not as efficient as educational, but it can be used to engage and motivate students for learning. The given results have been confirmed with a subjective assessment of students’ quality of experience with different methods of embedding video clips.

--

Este artículo ha sido reproducido de la Revista The International Review of Research in Open and Distributed Learning (IRRODL). Volumen 15, Número 3; utilizando una licencia Creative Commons Attribution International 4.0. © 2014. High population density and intense traffic resulted in various forms of pollution in cities. Air pollution ranks at the top of this list. This paper investigates changes in air pollutant parameters in Banja Luka, B&H, using data from air-quality measurement stations. The applied methodology is based on 24-hour measurements of air pollution, and connection between monitoring stations and automatic traffic control system centre. Based on the results of such measuring, a signaling cycle is activated in order to change the direction of a traffic route in the city. In this way, it is possible to manage air pollution in critical zones of the city, by introducing traffic bypasses leading to other parts of the city.
Research conducted in recent decades has shown that there are significant variations in speed at roundabouts depending on the geometric elements. Due to the characteristics of roundabouts and the way vehicles move, there is a reduction in speed, not only in the roundabout zone, but also at the approaches to the roundabout. This paper analyzes the influence of different types of roundabouts as one of the elements of the street system, on speed as one of the basic parameters of traffic flow that defines the functionality and quality of traffic conditions. The research of speeds was done on the approaches to the roundabout, as one of the characteristic segments of the roundabout.
