Scientific literacy skills are very important skills in life, not only related to academic aspects, but also in real life. Therefore, science literacy skills become a goal in 21st century education. This study aims to investigate the level of scientific literacy skills of biology prospective teacher, and to find out whether there are significant differences in scientific literacy skills of biology prospective teacher based on semester. In this study, there were 69 prospective biology teachers as voluntary respondents, consisting of 17 (2nd semester), 25 (4th semester), and 27 (6th semester). The Test of Scientific Literacy Skills (ToSLS) is an instrument used to measure scientific literacy skills. Furthermore, the data were analyzed descriptively and multivariatly using SPSS 22 at the 5% significance level. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that our participants' scientific literacy skills were not significantly different. In general, our participants' scientific literacy skills were low in the aspect understanding of element research design, creating graphs, solving problems using quantitative skills, and justify inferences, predictions, and conclusions based on quantitative data, and semesters have no significant effect on scientific literacy skills. Then, the recommendations for the results of this study are described briefly in the conclusion section
The purpose of this research is to find out the types and what medicinal plants are used by the people in Karang Pule Hamlet. Data retrieval in this study through two approaches, namely field research to get primary data and then enriched through secondary data. Primary data collection is carried out by involving the community through interviews with local community groups and individual members of the community. The selection criteria are based on the ability and practice of traditional medicine that conducted by informants. In collecting data, the interview technique used is open ended. This data collection technique is also used to explore knowledge systems about the diversity of traditional medicinal plant species, how to manage them, use them as well as to maintain the interest of the medical community using medicinal plants. Obtained types of medicinal plants that are used by the community in the Iron Pande Environment include Red Onion, Betel, Ginger, Castor Leaves, Guava, Turi Leaves, Lime, Sager, Banten, Kencur, Galangal, Turmeric, Cat Mustache, Horse Whip, Tongue Crocodile, Sondak / Pumpkin, Papaya, Blimbing, Cinnamon, Temulawak, Celery, Soursop Leaves, and Lemongrass. So, it can be concluded that medicinal plants can be beneficial to improve the health status of Karang Pule community.
Oyster mushrooms have high economic potential because they can be processed into a variety of foods and snacks, as well as prospects for development in the community. One of the potentials that can be used by the hut to hone students' life skills is by providing training for the manufacture of oyster mushroom products. The purpose of these community service activities is to be expected later when students graduating from the NW Kayangan Islamic Boarding School can become young entrepreneurs who make them economically independent and can open new jobs for the people in their respective homes. Community service activities focus on training in processing oyster mushrooms into products in the form of nutritious satay and crispy mushrooms that are nutritious and of high economic value, targeting the students and teachers at Pondok NW Kayangan, West Lombok Regency. The activity method includes: (1) preparation phase, (2) counseling, and (3) demonstration and training on making oyster mushroom and crispy mushroom. This activity increases the knowledge and skills of students in processing oyster mushroom raw materials. This is evidenced by the results of processed oyster mushrooms in the form of mushroom satay and krispi mushroom created by teachers and students.
This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge and competence of the Patuh Angen agricultural group through NFT hydroponic training. This training was applied to the Patuh Angen’s Farming Group located in the South Marong Jamaq neighborhood, Karang Baru Village, Selaparang District, Mataram City. The training was carried out using agricultural extension methods and agricultural process assistance methods starting from socializing the objectives, explaining the material, monitoring the planting process, harvesting plants, to reflecting on all the processes carried out. The results of this community service activity show that the agricultural group is able to practice NFT hydroponics and produce vegetables with good quality.
Ikan merupakan hewan vertebrata aquatis yang bernafas menggunakan insang. Oleh karena itu perubahan pada ekosistemnya akan mempengaruhi keberadaannya. Perubahan tersebut dapat disebabkan kerusakan lingkungan oleh manusia, sehingga ikan banyak digunakan sebagai indikator pencemaran. Untuk mengetahui pencemaran lingkungan di pantai Jeranjang bisa dilihat dari keragaman jenis ikan dari hasil tangkapan nelayan. Namun belum adanya standarisasi ukuran morfometrik dan meristik khususnya pada beberapa jenis ikan hasil tangkapan nelayan yang diperlukan sebagai dokumentasi dan dasar identifikasi ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakter morfometrik ikan hasil tangkapan nelayan di Pantai Jeranjang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif eksploratif. Metode penelitian deskriptif eksploratif merupakan metode penelitian yang berusaha mengungkap fakta suatu kejadian, objek, aktivitas, proses dan manusia secara apa adanya pada waktu sekarang atau jangka waktu yang masih memungkinkan dalam ingatan responden, jenis ikan yang didapat atau ditemukan sebanyak 7 spesies, Diketahui bahwa dari 3 nelayan didapatkan 40 ekor ikan yang berbeda jenis. Masing-masing ikan memiliki ukuran dan bentuk tubuh yang berbeda, meski berasal dari Kelas yang sama yakni Actinopterygii. Terdapat perbedaan panjang maupun bentuk dan struktur tubuh untuk setiap karakter morfometrik ikan.
