Micro‐LED is well known for the backlights to liquid crystal displays with proven high luminous efficiency, low cost, and long lifetime. As technology progresses, LED became small enough as a self‐emissive display pixel. Compared to conventional LCD and OLED, Micro‐LED renders higher contrast ratio, brighter, and much faster response time. The technology consists of LED epitaxy, LED chip process, LED transfer process, silicon backplane electronics, and driver systems.
Holdup time is a special requirement for front end DC/DC converters. It forces the converter to operate in a wide range for input voltage, which greatly degrades the converter's normal efficiency. In this paper a new front end DC/DC converter, a novel combination of an asymmetrical half bridge and a baby-boost with special control, is proposed. The baby-boost stands by under normal conditions and operates inherently only during the hold up time. As a result, the performances of high efficiency, power density and wide range of input voltage are all obtained. Topology and operation principles are presented with simulated and experimental results given in detail.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
