Interculturality is the awareness of cultural diversity in a communication in which all parties intend to communicate effectively with one another. This study considers the potential of the first sila of Pancasila as a healthy interculturality by virtue of its open concept of divinity, namely “cultured divinity”. The finding is that the first sila of Pancasila can be defi ned as an open and active intercultural hermeneutics. The fluidic, accommodative, and open nature of the first sila of Pancasila, makin it possible to values contributed from anywhere, is the advantage of Pancasila that makes it acceptable to anyone living in Indonesia. In the localcontext of Tembilahan, this study captures the interculturality, and retrospectively confirms that the intercultural meeting point constructed in Pancasila has been estabished.
The focus of this study is fashion as an issue in the discourses on popular culture. Fashion in this case is considered not merely a matter of basic human needs (clothing, eating, and living), but a meaningful cultural "text" and a "sign" of identity politics, moral value change, and spiritual preference. The moral theological response suggested here is the ideology criticism approach promoting the values of authenticity and simplicity, starting from the fashion practice of faithful communities.
Abstract. The task of education is to present Christ in a new way for every generation in its culture. Pete Ward compiled a theological education guide for church renewal using a Liquid Ecclesiology approach as a combination of empirical and theological methods. It is called the empirical method because it is based on a concrete church experience. One such experience is church in the context of a multicultural society. In the multicultural theological education guide, there are five elements, namely contemplation, reflexivity, construction, and expanding fragments and editing expressions. Through a dialogue between the concept of multiculural theological education with the experience in the GPIB church, a new church is presented, namely a friendly, humble, and keep on learning to the world where the church is living.
The keyword commonly used in mysticism and spirituality is "experience". The instilling of God's mercy, in fact, is a spiritual experience accosted by God's love. Such experience is shared in a transformative praxis. The mercy of God is a faith experience that could be made a meeting point in fostering a love-based religious life. In the Protestant tradition, we can fi nd a foothold for the development of spiritual theology on John Calvin's work, i.e. the so-called merciful spirituality. Today's experience of God's mercy is infl uenced by the contextual concern about the image of the Homeless Jesus. The refugees not only "challenge" Christian communities to recognize the Christ within the needy strangers, but also welcome them in love and peace despite religious faith differences. Keywords: experience, spirituality, mercy, Calvin, church as the mother, un-will people.
