We present the provisioning of constrained connectivity services and protection/restoration scenarios using Transport API for the interconnection of multiple NFV infrastructure points of presence, which is needed for the uptake of NFV at telecom operators.
We present and demonstrate the alarm correlation capability executed as an SDN application in an open, partially disaggregated multi-vendor optical network. This SDN application reconciles device alarms from Open Terminals with service alarms from an Open Line System controller to perform fault isolation, alarm correlation, and optical restoration.
This paper discusses transmission techniques for applications in commercial fiber-in-the-loop-system. For fulfilling the requirements of cable plants, space-division multiplex and wavelength-division multiplex can be used for downstream-upstream-transmission. Time-division multiple access is advantageous for point-to-multipoint-transmission. We propose a novel burst transmission procedure in this paper. The digital modulation of an electrical carrier has been confirmed to be a suitable upstream transmission technique for systems comprising passive optical networks. It is advantageous for fast clock recovery, high-pass transmission and a wide dynamic range of the receiver. A demonstrator comprises an optical path loss of 36 dB and an optical dynamic range of 19 dB. This makes it posssible to realize either a 64-way split and a link range of 10 km or a 32-way split and a link range of 20 km.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
